Final Goodbyes

Caitlin looked around “She should be.” She nodded once. “Probably inside.”

"Okay." Silas mumbled while running a hand through his hair. "Andy and I are going on a run after this and I think I'm going to ask her if she wants to tag along." He then added afterwards. "You can come too if you want."

Final Goodbyes

Caitlin smiled sadly and looked at Jesse “Yeah I guess you have a point there. I mean look at Jesse he’s like a little mini Gage.” Caitlin grinned and held the baby up. “So we do have a little part of Gage right here.” she hadn’t yet thought of it that way and she was at least thankful for that.

Silas smiled warmly and nodded in calm agreement. "Exactly." He looked over to see if anyone new of interest showed up for the funeral. "Your sister's here right?"

Caitlin smiled and shook her head “I think you know what I wanted to say.” She then sighed and brushed the peach fuzz on jesses head with her fingers. “Yeah, I’m a little…stressed about it but it’s nothing I can’t handle I don’t think. I guess it’ll be nice for Jesse.”

"Well I can imagine it being... Stressful." Silas said sympathetically. "But yes, it'll be nice to Jesse. It'll be nice for everyone... At least Gage's legacy can live through his children."

Final Goodbyes

Caitlin covered her face with her free hand and tried to hide her smile. “You knew, how did you know? Don’t lie to me you little…” Caitlin looked down at Jesse not wanting to curse. “…thing.”

"I tend to know a lot of things, Cait. I have a keen mind to the senses." Silas spoke matter of factly. "Little... Thing?" Silas laughed before calming himself down, "That's wonderful news. Congratulations."

Caitlin raised an eyebrow at him suspiciously “What if you told you that…nephew was in fact plural. Or atleast will be plural soon enough.”

"Well then I would think a congratulations would be in order." He smiled almost teasingly.

Caitlin bit her lip "Ok if I tell you something will you promise to not say anything until we get all this...attack stuff figured out..."

Silas crossed his arm interestedly and replied, "Yes." His smile turning knowingly.

Caitlin couldn’t help but smile what he had said meant more to her than he would know. “Fine then, that’s all I ask…is be careful…and same difference. You’re slitting your wrists…just with your teeth.” She sighed at that thought then became distracted by another realizing something. “…Silas…why did you say nephews?” she asked tilting her head to the side and furrowing her brows.

Silas began smiling at her comment about his teeth but it faltered when she said nephews. His eyebrows rose slightly and he blinked a couple of times. "I said nephews? I apologize, must have been a slip of the tongue. I meant nephew. Singular." He stated before smiling innocently.

Caitlin looked at him still frowning and rocked back on her heels “This is so hard because I see your logic…I do. It’s just I have an icky feeling about it is all. I know i’m not gonna change your mind i’m just your girlfriend’s sister for gods sake.” She pinched the bridge of her nose “I think…I mean…just…be careful I guess…and I’ll have you know i’ll be searching for other alternatives. Cause you shouldn’t be slitting your wrists at all.”

"There you go downgrading yourself again. Caitlin Morris you are still a Lockman if you choose to be. You might not be my sister through marriage anymore but you are still mother of my nephews... Nephew. Even if we are not bound by blood, we are bound by bond of the pack. You're my pack sister and my good friend. And I will always take your advise and I will always appreciate your concern. I'll honor it as well as my other pack brothers and sisters." He said seriously before speaking again in a softer tone. "I promise to be careful." He then leaned his full back against the wall of the building. "I'm not slitting my wrists anyways. Cutting them won't do anything. I'm biting them."

Caitlin let out an over whelmed laugh and covered her face with her hands.”I hope you know how insane this sounds.” She adjusted Jesse on her hip her face turning serious. “I just…want you to be safe is all… cause I mean Silas come on that just can’t be good for you. I don’t care how powerful you are.” she bit her lip “Do you really think Gage would want his younger brother slitting his wrists in the name of revenge?” Caitlin looked at him with concern then shook her head turning her gaze to the floor. “I just…I dont know about this.”

"I know. I know." Silas chuckled. "The idea of drinking blood sounded insane to me when I decided to allow the Mayor to turn me. Hell there are religions focused on the consumption of blood..." He furrowed his eyes and clenched his jaw. "I honestly don't know if Gage would have done anything in the name of revenge. I don't know what he would have done if our roles were reversed and I was the one going into the ground. I would have liked Gage to take revenge for me but you know me and him had different ideals in certain things. I am being safe and even if it isn't necessarily good for me I don't see a reason not to try this. We can see what happens and see if it was worth it in the end after this." He then leaned in closer to her and said softly. "I wouldn't be slitting my wrists for revenge. I know Gage wouldn't want me doing that for him. I would be slitting my wrists, an act that won't kill me, to make sure no more people in my pack and family dies."

Caitlin furrowed her brows as she took in everything he had been planning. She looked up at the sky picturing how this would all go down. “You can’t possibly have the whole pack drinking from you Silas…I mean..what is that gonna affect you?”

"Maybe not directly... But I've been rationing. I've been rationing and collecting my blood every night since Gage died." He ran a hand through his hair in thought. "It should have the same effect. I've been keeping my stomach full during the day and donating my share during the night. The faster I get the right amount of blood, the faster I can heal, fill up, and be ready for the fight."

Caitlin looked over at him with a perked eyebrow “Oh yeah? and what would that be?” she asked curiously. 

His eyes found Caitlin's again, "I have a great amount of strength and healing in my veins. Blood of a forgotten legend. If I have my pack drink from me before the battle I'm convinced not a lot will be able to stop us or hurt us." He then added afterwards. "As far as I am aware, I can compel anyone in this world too. I can create mind soldiers and get people on the inside of whatever camp they reside in. I can also create destruction from the inside out."

Caitlin nodded feeling like a slight idiot for asking if he was nervous or not. She leaned her head against the wall and stared out in front of her. “Yeah. I’m sure everything will be okay.” she said half heartidly. “I just dont want to lose anymore people I care for is all.”

Silas studied her quietly for a moment. "I don't want that either. I would never want that..." He then returned his attention back to Jesse. "And I think I have a solution to calm our nerves."

Caitlin frowned again and pursed her lips “Are you nervous at all? … I mean…what if….what if we lose someone else…” she asked trying to sound as calm as possible.

"Of course I'm a little nervous... I'd be an idiot and/or a shell if I wasn't." He shrugged a little and tilted his head slightly. "But I have to still have confidence. We will catch them by surprise and I have faith in my pack. If the pack goes to battle at their finest and if I go my strongest, I don't think we will have a lot to worry about. If it's planned out properly as well."

Caitlin glanced down at Jesse “He’s…doing okay…I think.” She said with a frown. “…and I’m doing…the best I can.” she shrugged. “Havent slept a wink..however I feel as though that the case for all of us.”

Silas wiggled his finger as Jesse attempted to grab it. "That's all I ask. Is for you and Jesse to do the best you can. Maybe even better if you think you can attempt at it." He then looked over at her. "Yeah, I haven't slept much either. We are all anxious for the big attack."
