I have to make mistakes in order to learn & grow
genuinely insane to me that bikinis are the Default swimwear marketed & sold to women. that's nylon underwear. & if you don't want to wear one people treat you like you're childish & insecure & suggest ways to "get over it"
"i feel uncomfortable with the idea of wearing what amounts to fast-drying underwear in front of other people, many of them complete strangers" "have you tried gradually acclimating to showing more & more skin? have you tried being more confident? are you ashamed of your body? don't you want to show off your beach bod?" girl what the fuck are you talking about!!!
wearing a bikini is all about confidence & self-love 🥰 but remember to wax all that icky yucky body hair first!!! 🤢 nobody wants to see that 🙅♀️
Just got a new knight! I sure hope his unwavering loyalty, mindless devotion, and tendency to kneel before me to kiss the palm of my hand before he commits atrocities in my name doesn't awaken anything in me.

Warrior cats video game this fall?!?! It’s about time!!!
I sent this to my husband, and learned he doesn't know what knotting is.
Everyone says they wish people were more genuine and openly passionate about the things they create but I see those same people hate on creators who actually are because they’re “cringe”
It’s interesting the media trend of being too self aware (or meta) and mocking itself in the text is kind of a reaction to exactly that.
It’s self-defeating because it colors the way people see your work but it is initially a defense mechanism for a lot of people.
“If I say it sucks from the start it won’t hurt when people say it does. I already said it so what did they expect-“
If you want people to be comfortable being genuine and passionate you have to let them do so without being an asshole. (Even when you don’t like it)
(Which is not the same as never criticizing anything or being 100% positive all the time. We don’t need to swing all the way in the other direction here and over correct..)
Something about the internet cycle of “people love a thing” —> “thing gets too popular” —-> “people suddenly VICIOUSLY hate the thing and people who like it are cringe/bad” is so exhausting to me
Growing to hate something bc of over saturation is absolutely a thing that happens but keep it to yourself and like minded people, you know? Be able to recognize that’s the problem and not the actual thing.
Yeah it can be fun to be a hater about stuff you dislike sometimes but know when and where it’s appropriate? Don’t be needlessly cruel to people who are just..minding their own business.
Because in a world where everything is really commercialized and overly sanitized for mass consumption maybe we should celebrate when people are actually passionate enough to create something out of love.
Yes, even if how they do it is “cringe” to you or it’s “overdone” they still felt moved enough to do something. Maybe it’s not the “best” in terms of quality or the most original thing in the world but it’s better than the mindless, unfeeling commercialized crap we get bombarded with constantly.
Being overly cynical and hateful 24/7 doesn’t make you smart or cool it just makes you unpleasant to be around.
It’s not a replacement for a personality it’s just a different form of being an annoying edgelord and saying “teehee I’m so different and so much better/smarter than these people”
Quotes from 1997 that keep being relevant and maybe just always will:
(I'll push back on the prev tags statement of “hipster attitude” being necessarily one of cynicism though ESPECIALLY one of cynicism against indie creators. I'd say that if there is a "hipster attitude" it's that things created outside of the industries of as you say sanitized commercialized crap are inherently better because of the human creative touch unfettered by focus group refinement. That's what I try to maintain. I would have put this in tags but it's to long. I add it as a second reblog for easy slicing off with a mid click.)
You know, fair enough. I wasn’t really thinking about my wording here cuz I was kind of annoyed when I wrote this.
In regards to that comment I was mostly thinking of the of trend of how things blow up in popularity and then suddenly everyone hates it.
It was absolutely not a dig at indie creators who I absolutely agree tend to put so much more heart and soul into their work and that’s something mass media tends to lack.
I see the same phenomenon with indie creations though (quite often sadly). If they blow up in popularity they seem to always get an influx of vicious hate after a while. Suddenly it “always sucked.” People seem to turn on shit real quick. Idk if it’s over-saturation within social media circles or just “more people are aware of it”
Perhaps contrarian would have been a better word to use.
I guess growing up hipster was used in a very specific way. I’m not sure if it was used accurately in retrospect but it’s how it was used.
When I was younger it was a term used for people with a huge superiority complex about liking things first or purposefully hating anything slightly popular. (Having nothing to do with the actual quality of the media in question as much as just flaunting the holier than thou attitude around.
Despite my frustration with the state of media as whole right now good things do and can come out once in a while from bigger companies.)
Despite what people who used the label often claimed it didn’t seem to be as much about supporting actual independent creators as much as..trying to seem better than everyone else?
Because supporting independent creators is wonderful and absolutely should be encouraged. It’s the attitude about it all that some people had that rubbed me wrong.
And that’s what I was kind of comparing the trend of “it’s popular now everyone suddenly hates it” too I suppose. It seems mean spirited at times even.
Of course these specific people could have just been assholes.
Now that I think about it contrarian would have probably been a better word here.
I’m sorry for that. It was rude of me.
Anyone know how you would you go about learning how to make/alter creature textures in fallout 4? Like what programs would you need? Are there any guides out there?
Making my mod list for next fallout 4 playthrough
It’s kinda funny adding difficulty mods when I think about it cuz it’s just me making Guin’s life worse and worse

I always feel embarrassed by vent posts after I make them like damn that was aggressive chill out
I suppose that means it worked but still
i ♥️ filtering tags i ♥️ blocking blogs i ♥️ scrolling and not engaging i ♥️ curating my online experience
small thing I'd like to add here is that there is no bad fic as long as it's done with love <3
I am not immune to falling into ruts of “people inherently suck” “the world is doomed” “everything is terrible” etc, etc.
Catastrophizing is a bitch.
I don’t think anyone is? Especially people who struggle with depression (and I do)
But I also try to pull myself out of that when I can. It’s a skill you have to actively work on but you can do it.
You are not doomed to be miserable. The world isn’t over yet. Good people exist and good things happen every single day.
There are good things out there. If you can’t find them then make them. Someone out there will love what you create.
Someone out there will love you.

need to beam this tweet directly into everyone's minds right now
People will say they’re tired of mass commercialized crap and then viciously attack people who try to create something out of love the second it doesn’t adhere to their own personal tastes.
