Jurassic Park Scary Story
It’s the jungle. It’s dark. There are bug sounds all around you. You can smell damp soil and urine and faeces. It’s your urine and faeces. A moment ago you relieved yourself behind a tree and now you’re thinking, if you can smell it, maybe the things out there can too (the “things” are dinosaurs because this is a jurassic park story). You decide to move to another bit of jungle and start walking through the brush and hopping over fallen logs. It’s all very scary for you because you can’t really see where you’re going, and if you take a wrong turn you might fall down a ravine and break a limb. You might break many limbs, and that would make this whole thing even worse.
You've been walking for about a mile now, and just as you stop to take a rest, you hear a faint rustle in the distance. You freeze in place, and your eyes begin to dart around trying to spot any movement, but it’s useless because it’s night of course. Suddenly there’s another, louder, rustle. Much closer. “I should have stayed with the piss and shit”, you think to yourself. More rustles, footsteps, and a growl RIGHT next to you. It’s in this instant you realise you didn’t think those words at all. You just said them aloud. You spoke those words like you were talking to your best friend Craig at that busy club that you like. You aren’t sure how that just happened but you think maybe it’s because you are dehydrated (you did piss a lot). You don’t know whether to laugh or scream or cry, but just as you start to do all three at once, you are knocked to the ground and feel painful pressure around your neck as the thing that was behind you now sits on top of you and sinks its teeth in. You have just been killed by a dinosaur at Jurassic Park. Craig will be devastated.
📣 ⚠️ NEW VIDEO ⚠️ 📣
Hey Tumblr friends, long time no see. Got a nice new video for ya that’s full of colours and strobes and stuff. It’s about Muldoon from Jurassic Park and I hope you like it. Okay I’m gonna go now, but I’ll put a selection of nice frames from the video up somewhere.
P.S. sorry about the porn :(
Jurassic Park Restoration Project
For the past couple of months I've been working on my ultimate Jurassic Park restoration edit, and though it’s still a long way off from being completed, I wanted to talk a bit about what I’ve done. This post will cover some of the changes I’ve made to the film, and why I’m even doing this in the first place.
Jurassic Park has been released in many different formats over the years, including LaserDisc, VHS, DVD, Blu-Rays — but none of these have ever matched the colour and overall visual quality of the original 1993 theatrical film print. The LaserDisc and VHS releases each had their own colour grades, and when the film was finally transferred to 1080p Blu-Ray in 2011, it received yet another alteration to its colour palette, this time the film we got was overexposed, grainy, and massively high in magenta. It was certainly the clearest and crispest the film had ever looked, but it was lacking everywhere else. Then, in 2013, the film underwent 3D post-conversion and got probably the worst treatment yet, with brown skies and sickly-orange grading.
I made the following video comparison showing the differences between the 2011 and 2013 Blu-Ray transfers. A lot of the visual weirdness is due to the 3D, so bear that in mind.

Hello, tumblr Jurassic friends!
Here’s my latest video that celebrates the 25th Anniversary of Jurassic Park, my favourite film of all time. It briefly covers the filming and release of the film, and how the world reacted to it. Plus, there’s a section at the end that shows how fans today are still inspired by this wonderful dinosaur movie.
I wanted it to be a big, rousing, celebration of Jurassic Park, and I’m happy with the response it’s gotten from my fellow fans.
See you around!
HEY GUYS!
It’s #JurassicJune 2017! Every year I always like to make a short intro video on June 1st to start the celebrations off. Here’s this year’s video!
Hey guys!
Here’s my latest video. It’s a music video for the Jurassic Park remix track “That’s Chaos”. Enjoy!
Happy Jurassic June!

Jurassiraptor provides an overview of all the cool stuff that’s happening so far this Jurassic June.
Here’s a recent video round-up. Just some of the stuff I've done but hadn't posted here on the site yet. First is my “Dinosaurs and Man” video, a nice slow saunter through some of Jurassic Park’s most inspiring and uplifting moments, set to “Claire de Lune” by Claude Debussy.
Following that, and changing the tone rather dramatically, is a weird little video tribute to Dennis Nedry. Finally we have my intro to Jurassic June 2016. Shorter than last years, which you can see here, but I was leaving for a camping trip and only had a few minutes to work on it.

Unlike all the other films in the Jurassic Park franchise, last summer's Jurassic World lacked a rain sequence. Recently I learned that the climax of the film, the Indominus versus T. rex throw-down, was originally going to take place during a storm. If you watch the scene, you can see there are puddles of water on the ground, the lighting has a very overcast feel, and the characters and even dinosaurs look wet. This suggests that the decision to "cut" the rain was made relatively late.
I decided to add in some rain effects myself to get a sense of how the scene would look and feel. The results are a little rough in places as I'm not a VFX wizard, but it still gives you an idea of what could have been, and I think it fits rather nicely.
Full changes list:
• rain particles that change with wind direction • various rain & thunder sound effects including when characters are indoors • one cheeky lightning flash when the Rex roars (couldn't resist) • slightly darkened the image and tweaked colour grade
Had some fun making this cover image from a packet of Jurassic Park trading cards that the brilliant JurassicCollectables posted on twitter.
It was such an appealing, solid design that gave me pangs of nostalgia, and I immediately wanted to have a go at recreating it myself (I do that sometimes) and the above is what I came up with. It’s not perfect, and I couldn't find the exact Rex photo, but it was a fun exercise.

Here’s the ‘90s throwback action figure promo I made for my fake “HYBRIDS” commercial. It was based on the one that comes up at the end of the old JP commercials, seen above.
I also thought it’d be funny to remake the Hasbro logo to look like the classic Kenner logo from the old toys. You can only see it for a few seconds in the video, but I think it was worth it.

This ILM visual effects breakdown video is great for many reasons, one of which is that it gives us dinosaur-free background plates to photoshop.
3D-printed Jurassic Park dinosaur figurines designed by the incredibly talented Manuel Bejarano.
