Plant of the Day
Sunday 4 April 2021
The tiny yellow flowers of Sanicula epipactis are surrounded by green bracts which appear in late winter and early spring before the leaves. This is a low-growing, clump-forming perennial which needs a moist soil in shade during the growing season, but will tolerate drier conditions later in the year. Useful at the front of a border.

Money, Abundance, & Love Apple Chips Recipe!
A page from my grimoire.
This is a recipe I utilize for manifesting money, abundance, and love. I find it works best to choose one of these intentions and truly focus on it while making them, but its totally up to you.
I use these chips simply for eating as a snack to help with manifestation. But, I make sure to eat them before or after a spell related to money, abundance, or love.
I also cut them up and put them in loose tea for tea magick.
I also add them to spell jars or charm bags.
Bonus: if you have a familiar that eats apples (like my rabbit!), you can cook a few without the herbs and give them a lil’ treat!
What you’ll need:
- Apples of any kind.
- Cinnamon
- Nutmeg
- Baking sheets
- Parchment or cooking spray
- Crystals related to money, abundance, or love (optional)
- Pink, green, white, or gold candle (optional)
How to Make
- If I’m using crystals or candles, I like to set up the crystals around my kitchen and light the candle before starting. Usually I like to say a little something to thank the earth for the gift of fruit and state my intention for making them.
- Preheat your oven to 250 F
- Wash the apples. You can remove the core if you’d like, but its not necessary.
- Slice them thinly. Anything bigger than 1/8 of an inch or so will not get super crispy, but will still be good. You can use a really sharp knife or a mandolin for this.
- Lay them flat on your pan and make sure there are none overlapping. Sprinkle your cinnamon and nutmeg now, as much as you’d like!
- Now cook them in the oven for at least an hour depending on how thick your slices are. The thinnest slices will only need about an hour, but the thickest slices can sometimes need about 2. What I normally do is check them after one hour and see how they are doing. Flipping them isn’t really necessary, but feel free to at the one hour mark if you’d like.
- After they are cooked and cooled, you can store in a container at room temperature.
Now you’re ready to eat them and add them to your tea, spells, and whatever other creative ideas you have! Enjoy!
