Multiple clicks surge around the ground as Junko's boots jabbed columns of stones her twintails slashing her their strands across the streams above the sides of her hair as she rotated her torso and her tongue repeatedly tapped her chin.
"Wahaha? Someone said my name, right? Oh gosh, it's gotta be someone who's askin' my help for some really complicated concept that only they know someone such as I can--"
However, as mentions of "doppelgängers" twirled and rattled the canals on her head, she stamped her soles on the stones, stroking lines that rolled its black ivory into slim gaps and planting a few blotches that adjusted its tint to embody the particles underneath the stones.
Additional clatters were flung between the gaps of the strings beside her head as they repeatedly prodded their sides and dragged their cones around her sleeves and the folded skin underneath their cuffs. Junko swept her chin above her throat before fingers smacked her forearm and thrust her knuckles onto her bottom, her eyes rotating to faded, olive marks accompanied by grey rings.
"Hhhhff, hrrrrg, hrnnnf! Man, couldn't you stay to at least place YOUR underwear in YOUR drawers?! Bet all the heat in my shirts are already going away. Why did you even run here anyway? It probably isn't because folding your clothes 'bores' you."
"Sorry. I came here because someone mentioned my name."
"Ohh. So you came here because you heard someone spout your name and…
"Wait, wouldn't that mean you'll leave our just because ANYONE says your name?! You can't even hear everyone say your name! Your muscles would just swell more than mine if you just never stayed there! There's an ACTUAL reason you came here, right?"
"Hoh GAWWSH, Owarin! Can you, like, smack your lips against themselves? I'm not gonna impart why I'm here if you're gonna stick a pin through my ears! Like, multiple ones, in fact."
A black ceiling and floor shuffled on the "olives," their sides slipping to the edge of her eyes and constricting underneath the vertexes on their edges before Akane's fingers unfurled from Junko's skin and flung their wrist by her skirt. Her red pleates slightly shivered and damp streaks formed on a pair of badges on Junko's right hip.
"Yeah. That makes sense. Why did this particular case of someone mentioning your name urge you to come here then? Why aren't we already returning to our house?"
"So you know how it always feels like you're always doin' something REALLY moronic like talking to the girl you really hate or smashing ALL of the dinnerware in the house?! Well, it turns out it's 'cause the person you are is actually an ENTIRELY different body that does what it wants in a different world than the one we're on! I think they're called 'dream selves' or other shockingly blunt name!"
"That's… That's just a dream, isn't it? You didn't run here JUST to tell me how dreams work, right?"
"N--N--No. I actually came here for a, snf, worse reason. There might be a way for us to never sleep, I think. Just imagine constantly living with the idea that you're just never going to actually rest because there's a doppelgänger that just embodies your consciousness. It would just be better to just stay awake at that point, even if your eyebags pull your eyelids to your cheeks. That's why I think it would be--
"So freaking awesome to just ALWAYS know what you're doing while you're sleeping! Man, just think about ALL of the lives you can totally screw up while people think it's only happening in their dreams! You can give help them by giving them money that just 'suddenly' materializes on their nightstands!
"There might even be several things we don't even know about the people we've meet hiding in the Dream World. All of those facts just hiding in a place even my eyes can't pierce… Aha, ahahaha! Should we NOT find a way to create our own doppelgängers and see what's in the Dream World?!"
"I… What? So if you're taking control of a body in a dream, wouldn't that also be considered a 'dream self?'"
"Incorrect, for the doppelgänger that inhabits the Dream World inhabits your memories, beliefs, desires, all of the traits that ensolify their forms to establish what you view as your self."
"So the doppelgänger is separate from our 'dream selves' and our actual minds. Got it. Do you even know how you're gonna create a doppelgänger? Isn't it gonna involve some stuff involving 'cutting' parts of our mind to create an entirely different body?"
"I don't know. I probably gotta meet this Sumireko girl to know that. Even if I don't entirely get how she created one, I bet she can still tell me about what happens in the Dream World. I can then tell you what she saw in it."
"Uh-huh. That wasn't the answer I was expecting but it's also the one that makes the most sense. Let's just get back, okay? I'm pretty sure all of our clothes are just as cool as the room's air now and I don't know how we're gonna return all of its heat back to them without using more electricity."
"Shall we consider situating the various layers of fabric between our stomachs and allowing the body heat that's generated by the combination of our blood expanding the surfaces of our veins and vessels against their epidermises and the inherent warmth our adipose cells retain?"
"Mmm… Only after we shower. I don't really wanna work out with clothes that feel like they're constantly slapping out skin."
