My name is Henry (he/they) and I am an artist, nature person, and a birder! I began birding in mid 2025 after a curious squeak I heard at my local park turned into a month long search (with out binocular!) too see a Cedar Waxwing. I recently have also picked up bird photography and use a Nikon Coolpix P950. I still have a lot to learn and I plan to share my journey and photos here!

I’m walking around a public park at 8:30 in the goddamn morning. I’m wearing mosquito net pants and binoculars on a chest harness. A small child points to me and his mother stares on at me in pure bewilderment. Several people try to avoid me when crossing paths ( I make sure to say good morning to these people )

But then a woman riding past me on a bicycle asks me if I’ve seen “anything good?” To which I shout back “warbling vireo!”

A middle aged guy asks me about eastern phoebes, and then we end up chatting about our shared disdain for genAI.
