Shoes Off

First panel of the day was Vicky, Angie and Mekia. It was all Q&A again, some highlights I remember:

If their three characters worked a case again, how long would it be before they butted heads? - they were adamant that they wouldn't as their characters were all about female friendships/relationships.

They talked about scenes where they'd get the giggles - tbh, not knowing (or, in the case of R&I, remembering) a lot of their storylines, it didn't make much sense to me but for those who might understand: Vicky - the olive oil scene; Angie: the fringe jacket; Mekia: working with Richard because he's known for forgetting his lines and also a scene where they were kicking around some prop bread while the camera was on... I want to say Melissa, but it could have been Alyssa.

Vicky asked the others if they ever drew things in their notebooks to make other people laugh 🤭 Mekia admitted that she writes her lines in her notebook 😂

They were asked if they had an skills that the writers had worked into the scripts. Mekia is a dancer, but they haven't written anything for her yet. Vicky does a good fake sneeze. Angie's was running.

There was a sign language interpreter on stage and they were asked if they know any sign language. Mekia knows the alphabet. Vicky said that someone on set is learning and she also wants to get lessons from her neighbour, she thinks it's something that should be taught in schools.

They were asked about their favourite people to work with. Mekia said everyone. Angie talked about working with Avery (her daughter). Tbh I think it was a loaded question for Vicky and she said she liked working with the Connor-Swains.

Vicky also mentioned Tinker and how emotional his death was, and joked about how he couldn't come back - but you never know 😂

If they could go back into a previous job/role, Mekia would dance for MJ; Vicky mentioned a tv show called Age Before Beauty and also one of the earlier Swarla scenes after Carla was threatened, when they were getting to know each other; Angie said Jane.

Vicky talked again about how the queer representation was so important.

They were asked what advice they'd give to their 16-year-old selves. Vicky said: you're going to be just fine; Angie said: this too shall pass; Mekia said: your time will come, when it's the right time.

The second panel was Danielle, Yas and Tori... all my favourites in one place so I was looking forward to this the most and it didn't disappoint AT ALL. The fun and chaos on that stage was so much fun to watch and no-one wanted it to end.

They came on stage dancing to SexyBack by Justin Timberlake.

Yas and Tori were asked how they would have wrapped up their stories if they'd had the chance. Yas said happiness, Tori said marriage.

Danielle learned at this point that NCIS Hawai'i was cancelled without warning, which she described as "fucked up".

Danielle was asked about storylines she would want if there was a future S19 revival, she said selfishly she'd want them to be in the Swiss Alps, in a lodge in an expensive hotel that Carina has paid for, with Carina staying at the lodge with the kids and a glass of wine, while Maya was tearing up the mountains 😂

They were asked what one thing they would want people to know about them. Danielle said that she's more sensitive than people realise and that she just handles the hate really well (she hopes).

Yas made Tori answer about her. Tori said that Yas is spontaneous and wildly optimistic. Yas said that Tori is under the radar hilarious without realising it.

They were asked what other role on tv they'd like to play. Tori said Mare in Mare of Easttown which she described as a dream role. Yas said Jack in Titanic. Since Tori chase a Kate Winslet role, she then decided she'd play Rose - and when someone pointed out that Yas wouldn't want to play Jack because he dies, Tori said that it makes it even worse that Rose doesn't let him on the door since Yas can't swim. The two of them are so funny and natural together, which Danielle seemed enamoured by, she said she wanted to watch that 😂

Danielle's answer was Austin Powers, which Yas has never watched - Tori said another thing about Yas is that there are lots of movies she's never seen.

If they could be in another first responder show, Danielle said NCIS Hawai'i so that she got to film in Hawai'i. Yas said that she got island fever and Tori talked about how much she loved filming in Hawai'i.

They joked that, of course, Tori's and Yas's answers had to be Station 19 - to which Yas asked "is there just one station or are there 19 of them?"

They were asked if they could see their characters swapping jobs. Tori said Kate would never run into a burning building; Yas said that Lucy would be a good firefighter; Danielle said she wouldn't trust herself with a gun but did want to arrest someone. Tori said that handcuffs aren't as sexy as they look on screen and are quite difficult to use. Yas wanted to know if Danielle had ever shot a gun - she's been clay pigeon shooting and has shot a glock. Tori said they fired blanks and has never shot a real gun because "she's Canadian" - Yas said that's Tori's answer to a lot of things 😂

Yas wanted to know what kind of firefighter training Danielle had to do for S19, she said they did a little bit at the beginning but as it was only a pilot they didn't spend a lot of time - so they learned as they went along and she loved it.

If they could give advice to their younger selves, Yas said keep going; Tori said be yourself and don't second guess who you are; Danielle said stop people pleasing.

They were asked what part of the convention they liked the most. Yas said the panels and she was enjoying this one, that it was just her and Tori yesterday - to which Tori got (pretend) offended and said "oh, you're going to pick another blonde" and then Yas went into a panic trying to figure out how to get herself out of that hole 😂

They were asked about theme songs for their characters. Tori said the first song that came into her mind was Gettin' Jigging Wit It which wouldn't be Kate's theme song but it was a fun song - and Yas said it would bring out inner Kate. Yas said Men in Black. Danielle said Hot in Herre. The DJ controlling the music played each song which led to a lot of singing and dancing.

They talked about how important their characters had been for queer representation and the compexity of their characters and storylines. Danielle said it's the complexity which makes it real. Yas agreed and said she liked that Lucy and Kate were separate people with their own issues, as well as a couple. Tori said that they were paying real people trying to figure it out and it was important to see yourself on screen and find your place in the world ❤️

If Maya, Carina, Kate and Lucy went on holiday, they were asked where they'd go and what sort of trouble they'd get into. Tori said they'd go to the Swiss Alps. Yas doesn't know how to ski so Tori/Kate would have to teach her. Danielle said that Yas/Lucy would get them into trouble because she's spontaneous. Yas said that Lucy would probably get arrested but Kate would get her out of it, because she used to be a lawyer - and, as Tori said, Kate knows someone in every country. Danielle said that Carina would come in and start yelling at everyone in Italian to get Maya out of trouble!

The day ended with autographs and I only got Yas and Tori's. Tori's line took forever because she talks to everyone but (again) she was a dream 🥰 She talked about how much she loved doing this con with Yas and getting to look back at NCISH and talk about their characters together.
