One underrated sad pattern in BBC Merlin is Arthur getting pretty seriously and badly betrayed by pretty much everyone around him. And it’s not like… warranted in any way. It just happens. His dad betrays him with the secrets about his mom, I think that’s the real betrayal between them. Morgana betrays everything between them. Gwen with the infidelity. His uncle. Idk about the knights but. In a way, although Merlin is the most loyal of them all, he somehow manages to be the biggest traitor by withholding the secrets of his identity to Arthur. That betrayal is directly inversely scaled to his loyalty to Arthur. And Arthur at some point is like what am I doing that’s causing this to happen to me. I trusted all of them. I gave them all benefit of doubt. And I never really remember pondering much on that about the story because I guess I didn’t see that the deepest cut comes from Merlin at the eleventh hour.

Man one thing that you can still rely on to get me is the end of Meet The Robinsons and that stupid song. 😭
