The first thing you should know is that Wendy Star is not a stage name and with a name like Wendy Star you can bet your bottom dollar this girl knew she was going to have to go far. Live up to her own name so to speak. Ever since she was a little girl she has strived to be directly in the spotlight and she’s never been afraid to step on a toe or two to get there. She might seem all sweet smiles and good intentions but we all know what the road to hell is paved with and how dangerous a pretty face can be. Both things Wendy knew very well and she used everything she had to her advantage. The number one rule of show biz is that you can’t be soft. In front of the camera sure but behind the scenes you have to make damn sure that everyone knows that you are not to be messed with. You are irreplaceable. You are untouchable. You are Wendy fricking Star and you deserve another raise. In high school she was never really one for academia despite the fact that she had a totally hot and older tutor namely Simon Porter. When she was in high school, she might have had the dorkiest crush on him ever but that was then and this is now. Now she could have anyone she wanted so much so she has her intern collect the numbers people leave for her and toss them in the trash. Wendy has always had a determined thirst for power. She’s a powerful woman and the only way for her to go is up.

You see she started of in that news station as a lowly intern, fetching coffee for none other than Havensdale’s hunkiest weatherman George Weston. She clawed her way to the top and intends to keep on going until she runs the whole station. See unlike George she’s not satisfied being a big fish in a small pond, which she has no issue pointing out to him whenever she can, she wants bigger, better and brighter. An Emmy award for starters. A whole shelf filled with Emmy awards actually but let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves. Ambition aside, Wendy has always been an incredibly passionate person. She throws herself fully into everything that she does and when someone tells her that she can’t do it, when someone dares tell her she’s not good enough, she proves them wrong and then some. Success has always been her main form of fuel. See she’s not exactly from the wealthiest of families. She’s not one of the ‘Founding Families’ or a 'Vander’ whatever. She was never invited to the flossy parties with the champagne and small talk. In fact growing up she didn’t have a lot but you never would have known. The second rule of show biz? It’s all about the look and Wendy has her look down to an art. No one gets to see what’s beneath her perfectly painted surface unless she lets them and she doesn’t let them.

Now the perks of being Havensdale’s most loved anchorwoman are plentiful. Not only is she a town treasure but she lives in a big house with a yard and has enough money to literally build herself another house out of said money. A money house if you will. Wendy indulges and outwardly she keeps her cool. Her exterior is of a seasoned young woman who has known Christian Dior and Louboutin all her life but inwardly she’s squealing like a kid in a candy store. The clothes are her favourite things to buy along with the shoes and what’s more is that Brooke Bell moved into town. As in thee Brooklyn Bell from Bell Designs. She’s only one of her most favourite designers in the world and she’s right there in Havensdale. Talk about your big fishes in small ponds, right? Wendy always shoots her a smile whenever she’s in the store and keeps close attention on who her nearest and dearest are. Wendy would do anything for some free samples especially if they’re coming from a Bell. Sometimes she wonders if the facade she puts on for the cameras, the big smile she wears, or the saddened 'on the verge of tears’ looks, are becoming who she actually is. In fact sometimes she wonders if she herself even knows who she actually is anymore. You spend so much of your time pretending and shaping yourself into this public figure, this image, this shadow of a person people think they know and what are you left with when the cameras are turned off? Who are you left with.

Wendy is human but she is also a reporter in Havensdale Valley AKA supernatural central and while she is certainly not a believer, she can’t help but raise a brow to these ‘animal attacks’, changes in people’s behaviour, the influx of residents lately… She has this feeling in her gut that she doesn’t have the whole story and Wendy Star hates not having the whole story.

At work Wendy carries herself with both an air of superiority and warm, cuddly friendliness. It can come of as condescending but my gosh, she just smiles so brightly it doesn’t matter that she just called you an ignoramus who may as well take a leap off the top floor of the building, you know? She’s a force to be reckoned with and she never lets anyone forget it. She can’t.

She and fellow co-worker George definitely have their own little back-and-forth going. Playful, teasing banter that has a scathing sort of edge to it only two egocentric professionals could take in their stride. If Wendy actually had friends she might consider George one. At the very least he’s on her Christmas list even if he is, for the most part, a stuck up ass. With great hair.

Another person she might consider a friend is Julia St. Clair who she went to high school with. They were always on the friendly side and now that they’re both business-centric women so there’s that to talk about. See, Wendy doesn’t do beneath the surface stuff. She likes small talk over mimosas at lunch. She likes laughing at silly jokes and gossiping about what they’re wearing. No personal stuff. Ever.

With Julia comes Isaiah Jennings who also just so happens to be George’s brother so she humours his flirty little comments and the eye thing that he does. Wendy isn’t exactly looking for love or maybe she is… Once she’s taken over the station and won that Emmy but she is open to distraction and Isaiah Jennings would be such a pretty distraction.
