Every single time someone gets called out for racism or even something similar like appropriating AAVE the immediate response is like...such pathetic groveling and self-victimization. Like you’re actively trying to force black people to forgive you or coddle you. It’s so uncomfortable.

Just apologize, take the consequences that come your way, and do better. All the time you spend throwing yourself a pity party is so insensitive.
