My university friend has just sent me an emergency fundraiser started by a friend of hers. This is a fundraiser to collect money for Sour, a city in the South of Lebanon. The money collected will be used to essential supplies such as food, clean water, temporary shelters and medical supplies for families there.

Hi everyone.

This is an URGENT campaign started by some friends at Oxford university to fund for Sour, a city in the South of Lebanon. We are collecting emergency funds for essential supplies (food, diapers, milk) for families still residing there. These families are now facing the bombardment, in addition to the stores in the city running on supplies low due to mass forced displacement. Nabil, my 7-year-old son, needs me by his side… he needs his father to build his confidence and feel safe. He is shy and takes his time to respond, and sometimes I feel he needs me even more than his mother.

I am in Gaza, and the war has kept us far apart, while he has been in Morocco for two and a half years. The distance pains me every day, and even though his shyness keeps him quiet on WhatsApp, he still needs me.

I miss him more than words can express. I hope one day I can leave Gaza and be closer to my family, to play with Nabil, laugh with him, and support him step by step so he can gain confidence and realize how special he is. ❤️
