Finally...

I managed to get a Playstation 5. For console releases, I typically like to get the system straight away. This time around it was a bit more difficult to get one due to the incredible amount of scalpers fully enjoying their capitalistic rights.

Thankfully I’ve been blessed to never get the red ring of death from the Xbox, or the red light of death from the Playstation 3. No hardware failures of any kind in my past with consoles. Here’s to hoping the next generation follows suit. Regardless, it’s always a smart idea getting the extended warranty with every console release!

For the past two weeks, pro-GameStop investors have shown incredible interest in a potential turnaround story of the store that played a huge role in their childhood memories. Fueled by nostalgia, pro-investors of Gamestop acknowledged some time ago that the company will sooner than later become obsolete as it has little to no hope competing with larger companies like Amazon or Overstock. Other companies like Blackberry, AMC Movies and Nokia also have targeted negative stocks. Popular trading platform Robinhood, has now ceased the ability for users to buy any shares of those companies. 

The rally for GameStop stock stems from the subreddit r/wallstreetbets, where amateur traders assembled to share investing ideas and more. The recent move by Robinhood and Ameritrade to halt the purchase of shares for normal users has created large scale controversy. A reddit user has filed a class action lawsuit against Robinhood citing "Robinhood's actions were done purposefully and knowingly to manipulate the market for the benefit of people and financial institutions who were not Robinhood's customers."
