head cocking at the mortals words, hela pondered for a moment, before a grin grew on her face again. “not a bad idea… but the money isn’t the issue, i have no need for his money.” she thought aloud, looking at the girl again. “how about, when the woman is revived, she gets the money? i want to see his face as the world crumbles around him.”

Helena shrugged. “I mean if you have the powers to bring people back from the dead it’s not likely I can exactly stop you from doing whatever you want so go for it, lady. It still feels a little cruel but hey it’s up to you.”

“How about now?”

“Works for me. I’m going to a take a wild guess and say we are heading to the roller rink in town?”

most of the time, daedalus tried to mind his own business, or so he liked to think- in reality, he couldn’t help but stick his nose where it didn’t belong. this was especially true in matters that involved his siblings. he knew helena was capable of holding her own in a fight, but he still found himself stepping in, perhaps itching for a fight himself. rolling his eyes, he folded his arms across his chest as he looked at his sister. “oh calm down will you?” he sighed, “i know you can hold you own, but who would i be if i didn’t stick up for my siblings?” he questioned, arching one of his eyebrows.

“ - don’t you even think about cutting in front of a decaffeinated woman and her coffee, “ gaia put a hand up to demonstrate her frustration and annoyance. some things never leave the classroom. 

“I can teach you!” Devyn put their head in their hands. “I’m good at it, and I’m a great teacher. I’ll make Percy heal any broken bones, promise.”

“Guess I can’t turn that offer down than. Just give me a time and a place.”

“I know, they don’t understand us. Those people are almost as bad as the kind of people who touch my wings without asking.” Isaac hated how often these sorts of things seemed to happen. “I’m surprised I didn’t.”

“Or the asshats who when they find out that I’m a shapeshifter ask why I don’t make my eyes look normal.” She rolled her eyes. “You should’ve. It’s what they deserve.” ( @chacswins​ )

one thing that bucky was still getting used to about his life now was the domesticity of it all. doing washing and cleaning the house was mundane, but it grounded him. james was in the middle of folding the latest load of washing when he heard a loud sound a few doors down. dropping everything immediately and running to the source of the sound, bucky was on high alert as he reached helena’s room. reaching for the handle, bucky was beat to it by the door opening. “you know i don’t give a shit about the paint kiddo, are you alright? i know that sound wasn’t just the paint falling.” bucky tried to be a stern parent, but as he spoke, his eyes were darting around the room for any potential harm to his daughter. the voice in the back of his head reminded him that their home was more than safe, but the primal urge to protect against any enemies was overwhelming any logic. “told ya’ that if help was needed i’d do it. y’know i’d hold things up for your dad back in the day, if ya’ need it i’ll do the same for you.”

Helena didn’t want to roll her eyes, really didn’t mean to. New year, less immature Helena. Or that was the plan at least. And yet, she stood there, covered in paint, and rolled her eyes. “Healing factor, remember?” In the years since she healing factor had developed, she’d grown increasingly more annoyed with even vague concern with her health. She was fine. She was always fine. “So if I had fallen, which I didn’t, there wouldn’t be any damage to my person for you to worry about.” Really there was no reason, in her mind, for anyone to worry about her even if she had injured herself. It’s not like injuries stuck around long for her anyway. “I’m not just painting my walls. I’m painting a mural. It’s not something that I would want help with even if I did need help. Which I do not need help.”

“you know, i’ve had some weird requests. but a man asking me to kill his wife has to be hilarious.” hela laughed, looking at the other. “i’m tempted to take the money, do it, and then bring his wife back a week later just to mess with him.”

“You could just kill the man and take the money. Save the poor woman the trauma.” Helena said, arms crossed. “Sounds like the dickwad deserves it.”

“I really do not understand why people feel the need to air their grievances with mutants when I tell them I plan to be a mutant rights lawyer.” Isaac stretched his back, his wings stretching with it. “They say all this to a mutant with wings!”

“People are such fucking dicks.” Helena was always a little angry or, in the very least, more often than not she was a little angry. It wasn’t something she cared to fix, really. It came in handy as much as it hurt her. “I swear to god asshats like that are just asking for me to punch them.

“Not even joking, I will pay you so much to go roller-skating with me!” Devyn dramatically slapped their hands on the table. “I got like, a hundred bucks in Monopoly money.”

“I never learned how to roller-skate so if you really want to go, maybe you should ask someone who isn’t liable to break their arm while trying.” Helena said, her lips curled upwards into a small smile.
