I don’t care if the Enola Holmes’ plots predictable. Netflix can (and totally should) give me ten more movies and I’ll still be sitting still and watching all of them at least twenty times each.
If anyone needs me, I will be lying in bed recovering from Voicemails for Isabelle, which had the AUDACITY to market itself as a ROMCOM even though I'd started to cry ten minutes into the movie and was close to bawling my eyes out by the end of it. 10/10 experience.
Do I give female-centric superhero movies more grace and rate them slightly higher than I actually think they’re worth out of pure spite for the misogynistic men and their negative reviews? Yes. Do I think it realistically makes a difference? No. Do I still do it? Yes. Yes I do. That being said, please go watch Supergirl because Millie Alcock was fantastic in it and I am not ashamed to admit that I did cry when watching the film.
I’m convinced Olivia Rodrigo wrote “you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love” for Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy. And Mia and Sebastian. And Peter Parker and Michelle Jones Watson.
