This is an ask blog based around a genderswap AU of the Monkees! Because of this change, some clarifications are in order:

Peter -> Petra

Davy/David -> Davie/Davina

Mike/Michael -> Miche(prn. meesh)/Michelle

Micky -> Mickie

Every Monkee in this AU uses she/her pronouns

○ This rp is about the fictional TV personas of the Monkees, not the guys themselves!

○ In addition, it does not feature characters such as Princess Gwen or Ms. Arcadian--this is as if the guys were, well, girls

○ Light shipping is okay... but don't make me regret it!

○ Asks can be for any Monkee

“I think they’re from another world, man..” Peter blinked in disbelief.

“Wow! What a groovy-looking chick!” Mike’s jaw dropped when he saw Michelle, “She’s the most beautiful woman I’ve ever laid eyes on! She’s—“

“Yeah, yeah, cool it.” Davy lightly elbowed him, “We get it. It’s you.”

"Woah, check it out, girls," Mickie said, stopping in her tracks as she spotted their identical matches, "Those guys look just like us!"

"What a great looking guy! Look at those sideburns--" Michelle started to ramble, eyes wide, before Davie leaned up to slap a hand over her mouth.

"Down, girl," she joked, removing her hand only when she thought Michelle could handle speaking again.

"Should we introduce ourselves?" asked Petra, and the three others agreed, casually making their way over.

"Hmm... this is a loaded question," she said, her eyebrows furrowing in thought, "And one I can't answer while being listened in on."

Michelle gave a pointed glance over to the doorway where Petra, Davie, and Mickie peered in, eager to hear her response to the question. The look in Michelle's eyes was enough to deter them, though.

"I'll start with Mickie first. We get along the best, I think," she started, her eyes darting around as she thought, "Her and I have very similar senses of humor, and it's easy for us to strike up conversation with each other. We're very aligned, one might say, even when she does drive me crazy with her antics."

"Davie is always there to back me up. She's great at carrying out a plan or heist--I can always count on her. The only time I call her loyalty into question is when a boy is involved, but I know in the end she cares for her friends more than anything."

"Petra is.... a handful. She gets into trouble a lot and we all have to save her, but there's a reason we keep going back to get her! Petra is probably the sweetest girl I know, both to her friends and strangers. Her compassion and positivity is unmatched. She's quite musically talented, too(though don't tell her I said that)."

"All in all," Michelle sighed, tilting her head to the side wistfully, "I care for them all very deeply, even if I have a funny way of showing it sometimes."

As soon as she finished speaking, all three girls barged into the room, clearly having been eavesdropping.

"Oh, hey, girls," Michelle called out into the living room as she sorted through various bills and spam from the mailbox, "We got a letter."

The other three sprang up and huddled around Michelle to read it.

"You sure they got the right address?" Mickie joked--the band hardly ever got mail that wasn't a bill.

"Yep, I'm sure," Michelle replied, carefully tearing the envelope and unfolding the letter, "Hm... a fan wants to know what we'd do on a vacation to Paris."

"Well, funnily enough," Davie said, "We've already been! It was great--lots of great sights, great food... great boys."

Davie giggled as Mickie gave her arm a teasing swat.

"I don't recall a single moment we weren't on the move," Michelle said, tapping a finger to her chin as she thought, "It was fun, for sure, but I had the best sleep of my life when we got home."

"Ooh!" Mickie exclaimed, a memory suddenly popping into her head, "We rented these motorbikes that were totally outta site. Rode 'em all around the city!"
