One of the highlights of the year was getting our new (to us) Suburu Outback! Josh fondly calls her the “Blue Pug”. Even though I still haven’t quite figured out why that’s her name, 🧐 I’m happy to report that we are totally smitten. . She’s helped us roadtrip to the East Coast and back - TWICE - since we got her. And I can’t imagine shooting with all our gear without her roomy trunk. . Plus, after all the times our friends with cars have lended us a hand in the past, it’s nice to be able to pay it forward to those car-free (but probably not care-free 😉) folks who make up Chicago. . I was one of them for 7 years btw. After too many 1 mile trudges to the laundromat with 3 loads of laundry stuffed into a suitcase, bike rides with all the groceries I could squeeze into my backpack (minus the delicious fresh bread that never seemed to fit) and waiting for the bus in rain, snow, or 50 mph wind like that ONE day...I am officially able to join the car owners of America. 🥳 . So future brides and grooms, what does this have to do with you? Nothing really! Except that I will arrive at your wedding with a lot less fatigue, sweat, and stress because of good ol’ Blue Pug. One of the highlights of 2018 was traveling to Maryland to shoot my friend, @willyshakeslove’s wedding. The same weekend, Josh was shooting a wedding in Indiana for @hilphil. It was one of those wedding milestones that pushed our creativity and photography to the next level. We're so proud of the work we did and couldn't believe the hospitality of both couples. . Happy Tuesday friends! . Our long weekend is over and the snow day yesterday is making me even more reluctant to get back into my fast paced of work week. Any else in the same boat? . I WILL say that it’s nice to come back to social media and editing with a renewed sense of gratitude for the work I do. It’s easy to get too focused on “keeping up with the Joneses” instead of seeing these digital platforms as super helpful ways to promote community, business, and friendship. .
