Erotic Agency asserted through hip-hop’s fly girls of yesterday and today💦 This page exists to document posts related to the Black Women’s Erotics as described by Audre Lorde in “Uses of the Erotic”. Summarized through the idea that the exploration of personal gratification of Women through the Erotic will be a wellspring of empowerment from which Women, Black Women in particular, can draw from to reject the expectations that they subvert their own fulfilment in service of others. To that end, we document Black Women’s engagement in Hip Hop culture as a portal through which we may see Black Women defining their own erotics and the creation of shared and personal erotics of sexual, financial and creative agency.
