"You are no longer licensed to use the software," Adobe told them.
Friendly reminder that GIMP does pretty much everything Photoshop does, and itās 100% free. Fuck DRM and the license culture, we have plenty of open source options available to us as a consumer.
Lightworks is a freeware video editor on par with Premiere
Blender is an excellent freeware 3D renderer, possibly better than After Effects
Lightzone to replace Lightroom
Inkscape to replace Illustratr
Audacity to replace Audition (I also received a free version of Pro Tools with my Scarlett Solo audio interface)
If Adobe is going to be greedy shitheads, then fuck āem. Donāt use their stuff. Freeware can be just as good, if not better, than Adobe CC.
reblog to save a digital arts major
Reblog to save an artist.
oh jEEZ
I will keep saying this: GIMP sucks butts.
- Medibang Paint and Fire Alpaca for more cartoon style illustration
- Krita for painting
- Clip Studio Paint (not free, but often on sale and cheap even at full price) is better than PS for art and Iām about to cut adobe entirely. Even does some photo editing.
- Paint Tool SAI (again, not free but cheap) old but good, thereās a ton of hacked copies around too. Not hard to get for free.
- Open Tunez for animation.
Iām currently using Affinity Photo and itās a great Photoshop alternative. One time fee only and itās not really expensive, plus supports PSD formats. Free trial available too! Davinci Resolve for video editing is amazing as well! :)
Another great art program to include in the list is the completely free, no download, browser recreation of photoshop, Photopea! It has the potential/customizability to be as robust as a full copy of photoshop while also being perfectly accessible to anyone looking to just do some quick edits with no strings attached.
Also, heads up to anyone using it,
As of July 5th 2021, Audacity is now considered a potential spyware security risk,
so please approach it with caution and do some research on the situation as things progress.
Lol, FUCK adobe.

Add Some Oomph to Your Spells with Magical Timing
Like herbs, oils, and crystals, you donāt need to work with magical timing for your spell to be successful. You can cast a spell at any time, no matter your intention, and get your desired results. However, working with the energy of the sun, moon, and days of the week can add an extra power boost to your magic.
Think of it this way: certain energies are dominant at certain times. Those energies are easier to connect with because they are closer at hand, so to speak, so you can bring them into your life and your spells more easily and in a more powerful way. That doesnāt mean you canāt call on other energies during these times ā it just means that you may not connect to them quite so easily.
If you choose to work with magical timing in your spells, there are several yearly, monthly, weekly, and even daily cycles you can align your spells with.
The Cycle of the Sun: Solstices and Equinoxes
These are the turning points that mark the solar year, and are associated with the relationships between day and night, light and dark, summer and winter. Each solstice or equinox marks the end of one season and the beginning for the next. Because they are so rare and so potent, these days are a great time for your ābig pictureā spells or for spells that need a big power boost.
Winter Solstice. The winter solstice marks the shortest day and longest night of the year, and falls between December 20 and December 23, depending on the year. In some pagan traditions the winter solstice, or Yule, marks the beginning of the new year ā you may choose to set intentions for the coming year on this solstice. After the winter solstice, the nights start getting shorter and the days start getting longer ā so spells related to healing and bringing things into the light are especially effective at this time of year. The winter solstice marks the end of the ādark halfā of the year and beginning of the ālight halfā of the year; at this point, our focus turns from inward reflection to outward manifestation. You may choose to think of the time between the winter solstice and spring equinox as a āplanning phase,ā where you examine yourself and your desires, decide what you want to work on in the next year, and make plans for manifesting what you want.
Spring Equinox. An equinox occurs when the day and the night are exactly the same length, representing a perfect balance between light and dark. The spring equinox marks the beginning of spring and occurs between March 19 and March 22. The Christian holiday of Easter and the pagan holiday of Ostara are both related to the energy of this equinox. At this time of year, the natural world is coming back to life as winter begins to fade. Plants are beginning to grow, and baby animals are being born. This is a powerful time of year for fertility magic and any magic related to new beginnings. You may choose to think of the time between the spring equinox and the summer solstice as a āplanting phase,ā where you āplant the seedā of the things you want to manifest and begin doing the work to make it happen.
Summer Solstice. This solstice marks the longest day and shortest night of the year. It occurs between June 19 and June 23. As I am writing this post, we are coming up on the summer solstice (June 20, 2020). Life, fertility, and growth are at their peak during this time of year, which makes this solstice a perfect time for big manifestation spells. At the same time, this marks the end of the ālight halfā and beginning of the ādark halfā of the year, so after the summer solstice our energy shifts from outward manifestation to inward contemplation. You may choose to think of the time between the summer solstice and fall equinox as the āharvest phase,ā where you reap the results of your hard work and manifest your desires in the physical world.
Autumn Equinox. This is the other time of year when the day and night are perfectly balanced. The autumn equinox occurs between September 19 and September 23 and marks the beginning of autumn. This is traditionally the time of year when crops are harvested, and many pagan groups celebrate harvest festivals around this time. Nature is beginning to die or go into hibernation in preparation for the coming winter. This is an especially powerful time of year for shadow work or for magic related to endings and transitions. You may choose to think of the time between the autumn equinox and the winter solstice as the āreflection phase,ā when you retreat from the outside world to rest, focus on yourself, and do your inner work and self-healing.
Important Note: This post lists dates for the solstices and equinoxes in the Northern hemisphere. In the Southern hemisphere, the seasons are reversed. If you live in the Southern hemisphere, you would observe the winter solstice in June, the spring equinox in September, the summer solstice in December, and the fall equinox in March.
The Cycle of the Moon: Lunar Phases
If you donāt have time to wait for the appropriate solstice or equinox, you can still connect with the cosmos in your magic. One of the biggest pros of the lunar cycle is that it happens roughly every month ā so you never have to wait very long for the next full moon. The moon is also associated with magic and spirituality in several traditions, which makes it an especially powerful astral ally for witches.
New Moon. The new moon is when the moon is completely invisible in the night sky, and is the phase opposite the full moon. The new moon is a powerful time for shadow work (because it deals with things that are hidden) and for magic related to new beginnings.
Waxing Moon. The moon is waxing when it appears to be growing in the night sky; this is the phase between the new moon and full moon. This is a powerful time for any magic that deals with drawing something in, building something up, or strengthening something that already exists.
Full Moon. Many witches believe that the full moon is the most powerful time of month for any kind of magic. This is a good time to cast any spell that needs a serious power boost. The full moon is also an especially powerful time to release what no longer serves you or to work healing magic.
Waning Moon. The moon is waning when it appears to be shrinking in the night sky; this is the phase between the full moon and new moon. This is a powerful time for any magic that deals with sending something away, banishing negative energy, or bringing something to an end.
Dark Moon. The dark moon is the three day period immediately before the new moon. In some traditions, it is believed to be bad luck to cast spells during the dark moon. Other traditions hold that the dark moon is the best point in the lunar cycle for destructive magic, such as curses and hexes. Many modern witches donāt recognize the dark moon as a separate moon phase at all. I personally like to use the dark moon as a time for self reflection, and may focus on shadow work during this time.
Magical Correspondences for the Days of the Week
The days of the week also have their own unique magical energies, and each day is linked to a certain planet and to certain deities.
Sunday. Sunday is, of course, connected to the Sun and solar deities. Sunday is the best day of the week for any manifestation magic that needs an extra boost. Its energy is also associated with healing, personal growth, power, and success.
Monday. Monday is associated with the Moon and lunar deities. Monday is a quiet, introspective day, and can feel very ethereal. Itās the best day for magic related to intuition, nurturing, and shadow work.
Tuesday. Tuesday is associated with Mars and with gods and goddesses of war and action. (It is named for the Norse/Germanic god Tyr/Tiw.) Tuesday is a very āactiveā day, and is good for magic related to action, activism, victory, or finding courage.
Wednesday. Wednesday is associated with Mercury and with gods and goddesses of wisdom, learning, and communication. (It is named for the Norse/Germanic god Odin/Wodan.) Wednesday is all about mental activity. Itās the best day of the week for magic related to thought, travel, communication (written, spoken, or digital), and learning/study.
Thursday. Thursday is associated with Jupiter and with gods and goddesses of prosperity, wealth, and protection. (It is named after the Norse/Germanic god Thor.) Thursday, like Jupiter in astrology, is all about outward expansion. Itās the best day of the week for magic related to career, prosperity, and wealth.
Friday. Friday is associated with Venus and with gods and goddesses of love, fertility, and sensuality. (It is named after the Norse goddess Freyja, or perhaps the goddess Frigg.) The energy of Friday is fun, lighthearted, and sexy. Itās the best day of the week for magic related to love, beauty, and sex/sexuality.
Saturday. Saturday is associated with Saturn and with time and wisdom. (The day and the planet are both named after the Roman god Saturn.) Saturday is practical and wise, but it does have a little bit of a dark side. Itās the best day of the week for magic related to banishing and protection.
Magical Times of Day
Okay, so youād like to start working with magical timing, but what about emergency magic and last-minute spells? What if you donāt have time to wait for the next full moon, or even the next Sunday? You can still align your spell with magical timing! There are several moments of power each day, and each has its own magical associations.
Sunrise. Sunrise is, of course, the birth of the new day. This makes it the perfect time for spells related to new beginnings or expanded possibilities.
Noon. This is the peak or high point of the day. This is a powerful time for healing magic.
Sunset. Sunset is the end of the day, and forms a gateway between light and dark. This is a great time for spells related to accepting endings, releasing that which does not serve, and moving on from the past.
Midnight. If noon is the peak of the day, then midnight is the peak of the night. Midnight has a very ethereal, transformational energy. Like with the full moon, some witches believe that any spell will be more powerful if cast at midnight. This is a powerful time for both banishing and attraction magic.

Spirit work: How To Find Your Spirit Guides
Your spirit guides are very powerful entities that have been watching over you, and are ever present in your life even, if you do not have a relationship with them yet. These beings are specifically connected to you, because you chose each other before you were even born into this incarnation. Everyone has a spirit guide, and a guardian angel. Finding them, and learning how to interact, and communicate with them can greatly improve every single facet of your life through the simple act of their presence. Some people may find it hard to find their spirit guides, others will find it very easy, it all depends on if you are ready to know them, or not. There are many ways to go about finding your spirit guides, if you are ready to go searching for them. Any of these methods am about to share with you can help you find them, but it is also important to use your insight, and introspection to verify your experiences.
Things that can help you find your spirit guides:
Just knowing that they exist:
Just to the act of simply acknowledging that they exist will allow you to start building a connection with them. You will start to see their influences in the world, and all of the things that they do for you, that you might not have been previously aware of. Allowing for you to meet them, and to get to know them not through a direct meeting, but through there actions in your life.
Asking them to appear, and to be ever-present:
This will show them that you are ready to have them in your life. Just like the previous method, it will open you up to experience what they do in your life already. After you ask them to be more present in your life, you should look out for signs of them acting in your life.
Meditation:
Through the act of meditation one can find their spirit guides by using their spiritual senses to perceive them. To do this all you will really need to do it enter a meditative state, open your third eye, and call to them. They should come to you, and show you their presence, and once they do you guys can begin your communication, and learning of each other. This meeting is most likely going to happen in your sacred space, or astral temple, and is going to rely heavily on your sixth senseās ability to pick up spiritual constructs.
Divination:
Divination can be a very useful tool when trying to communicate with anything so why not your Spirit guides. All you need to do is get some form of divination method of your choice, and ask your spirit guides to answer through it. Then simply begin asking questions to it as normal, and they will answer through the act of your divination tools. This will allow you to communicate with them, and get to know them better. This is a very good method, especially when you can not get into a meditative state, or when you do not have a complete grasp of using your sixth sense abilities.
Dream:
If you know how to lucid dream, you can always call out for them in your dreams and they will appear to you there. Ā If you cannot lucid dream, you can always ask your spirit guides to appear to you in your dreams before you go to bed, and they may come to you and your dreams. Thatās all there really is to it.
Astral projection:
Astral projection can be quite helpful, when trying to communicate with any entity this also includes your spirit guides. all you have to do is astral projecting and you will be able to find your Spirit guides on the astral plane and communicate with them.
If Smeyer was so desperate to have Rosalie and Jasper portrayed (to Forks) as Twins, why didnāt she just make them actual twins? You can have mostly the same storylines for both of them with a few minor changes.
Like, for example;;
Rosalie Lillian and Jasper Whitlock* Hale
Twin Son and Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hale, born in 1915 in Rochester, New York.
Living during the Great Depression, theyāre fatherās family managed to stay afloat due to their fatherās job at the local bank.
Rosalie Lillian, the beautifully stunning violet-eyed blonde bombshell beauty of the family, remains the self-involved little girl who is in love with the idea of love and manages to find herself a match in Piece-of-Shit Royce King II, the son of the owner of the Bank her father worked at. She is turned by Carlisle Cullen after being assaulted by her shitdick of a FiancƩe and his dickwaffle friends. Rosalie took her revenge over the next while of her vampiric life. Later, in 1935, Rosalie found, saved, and fell in love with Emmett McCarty after he was mauled by a bear.
Jasper Whitlock, the stunning blue-eyed honey-blonde badass of the family, was originally drafted into World War II until some very specific strings were pulled and he was sent home after the sudden, horrible loss of his twin sister. He later left Rochester to go to Texas to help his motherās family during the Great Depression - with work and other things. He suddenly disappeared within two weeks of being in Texas, he was turned by the vampire Maria who required him for her Southern Vampire Army. Later, in 1948, he found and fell for Mary Alice Brandon - more well known as Alice.
Rosalie and Jasper Hale were reunited in 1950 when Alice brought Jasper with her to join the Cullen Family.**
*- Jasperās middle name comes from their motherās maiden name
**- In this headcanon, Alice couldnāt foresee Jasper and Rosalie being twins because she was still trying to get ahold on her abilities at the time, all she knew was they would āformā a very close incredibly protective bond.
GODDAMN IT THIS FANDOM IS MADE UP OF GENIUSESĀ
Ok ok ok but just for a second imagine what their reunion would be like
Jasper rolls up to the Cullen house pretty apprehensive about the whole thing bc his past experiences with other vampires werenāt great
The Cullens gather outside and Alice starts excitedly greeting them all by name, oblivious to Rosalie locking eyes with Jasper the moment she sees him
āHi Carlisle, hi Esme, hi-ā Jasper, absolutely stunned: āRosALIE????ā
All the others are like ??? as Rose just propels herself into his arms sobbing āJazzā into his shoulder
This would work like so wel with Rosalieās character in general because she misses her human life, right, so she now has an eternal connection to that life to always keep with her to soften the pain a little, and whenever sheās sad she and Jasper gossip about the people who lived in their town
They return to Rochester one day just the two of them and walk around quietly, remembering the life they once had here, pointing at street corners where important events happened and places that housed their favorite stores
In conclusion I love this and Iām also crying
HOLY SHIT! I LOVE THIS ADDITION!!!
I am so glad you love this!!

Jacob: āHeās at the funeralā
Edward:
ā½ Sea Knot Magick: a Wish Bracelet SpellĀ ā¾
This spell in particular is very special to me as it was one of my first successful spells when I started practicing in the 7th grade. Itās a perfect example of Sea/Lunar Witchcraft and Knot Magick!Ā
What you need:
ā¾ a Full Moon
ā¾ 5 different colored embroidery threads - one color to represent the moon (white, silver, even yellow), one color to represent the ocean, a color to represent your birth stone, a color to represent the wish (red/pink for love, green for luck/prosperity, etc.), and your favorite color. The length of the threads is dependent upon the type of bracelet you choose to makeāI did a double chevron, throwback to friendship braceletsĀ (ā°Ėā”Ėā°)
ā¾ A conch shell
ā¾ A symbol (a piece of jewelry that has sentimental value; couldāve been given to you by a loved one, or perhaps you choose a piece that represents the sea)
ā¾ Blue lace agate, which can be used as a wish stone, or stones that correspond with your wish
ā¾ Rain water, salt water, or sea water; I recommend water charged by the moon, your crystals, or blessed by Poseidon/Aphrodite/Selene/your patron
ā¾ (Optional) a Sea Altar or altar honoring a Sea DeityĀ
What to do:
Take the embroidery threads and begin to make a bracelet of your choice out of them; it doesnāt matter what pattern you choose, be it chevron, double wave, diamond, etc.
While you make each knot, visualize your energy flowing into the bracelet. Charge it with your wish. I even repeated my wish as a mantra in my head during the process as a type of affirmation as well, focusing on the outcome of my wish. While making the bracelet (which, depending on the pattern, can take a while), have some ocean-scented candles or incense burning! Let the bracelet sit on an ocean themed altar when you arenāt working on it.
Upon finishing it, let the bracelet soak in a bowl of your salt/rain/sea water for 10 minutes. Use blue lace agate or your stone(s) of choice to charge the water beforehandāremember to research whether or not the crystals are safe to sit in water overnight! If the water hasnāt already been blessed, this would be a good opportunity to place the bowl on your altar, place an offering beside it, and ask a Sea Deity or your patron to bless it!
Wrap the bracelet around your symbol and place it underneath the conch shell for 1 full day
On the next full moon, place your bracelet outside in the light of the full moon.
Wear the bracelet until the wish comes true!
When I did this spell originally, I had confused the new moon symbol with the full moon symbol on my calendar by accident. The night it was supposed to sit out in the moonlight, I figured the moon had already risen and fallen by then, so I went to bed and had a dream about the full moon. The next morning, I woke up and noticed it had already started to take effect. I remember realizing that magick worked in strange ways, and I was astonished and how fast it workedāI highly recommend this spell for sea witches! Feel free to incorporate the appropriate herbs or an incantation!
