My name is Mahmoud. I live in Gaza with my family, and we are going through a very difficult financial situation. I tried to create a donation link for my family, but I couldn't find someone to help organize and manage the campaign 🥺💔So my friend Ahmed decided to support me by sharing his own family’s donation link, and we agreed to split the donations between our two families.

Right now, we have almost no food, and the cost of living has become unbearable due to the siege, soaring prices, and the closure of all crossings.Everything has doubled in price in an unimaginable way 🥲🥺

We might be forced to flee to southern Gaza after the announcement of a full invasion of Gaza City 💔

The bombing and destruction never stop — not for a single moment. There is no longer any real life in Gaza. We are just struggling to survive, trying to secure the bare minimum: water and food.

This isn't just "think about where the potatoes and coffee come from in your world". This is also about fantasy worlds set in Earth too. The way JK Rowling designed her world so that England has it's own school but has Latin America, Africa and Asia share one school each is heavily influenced by her english centric view of the world around her. Or how she never took two seconds to think about how magic works in different cultures, or how she never explains why the indigenous communities of America didn't fight back against colonizers using magic, or how she decided that european colonizers "civilized" African wizards by teaching them how to use wands. Her way of seeing the rest of the world and obvious rejection to educating herself about other countries influences her world building.

a lot of people (myself included) have already pointed out how nolan managed to make a greek myth adaptation christian, but it's not just the way in which the greek gods are treated like a mystery (which is so stupid because of how relevant the gods' roles are in greek mythology in general, but especially the odyssey) while literally having the cyclops and circe running around. its the way odysseus calls the underworld "hell", the christian influence seeping in even when discussing a central part of the mythology

it's the armour, the ships, the treatment of "zeus' law" as some kind of amendment instead of a cultural tradition

I am a university student from the Gaza Strip. I have launched several campaigns, but they have all failed. I have created a new campaign, and this is my only hope now to provide the most basic necessities of life (water, medicine, food, electricity, internet). Everything is very expensive. Hello everyone,

I am a mother of three children from Gaza. 😔

Since the beginning of the war, I have lost my home and everything I owned. 🏚️💔 I have lived through days of hunger, fear, and displacement with my children, moving from one tent to another and seeking safety wherever we could find it. 😢⛺

During our displacement, a vehicle near our tent was targeted, causing severe injuries to me and my family. 💥💔 My injuries were the most critical. I was hit by shrapnel near my heart, as well as in my lungs, liver, and pelvis. 🩸

I spent several months in the hospital 🏥 and underwent multiple surgeries to remove fluid from around my heart and lungs, until I was finally able to breathe again without medical machines. 🙏

Today, I am still suffering from severe breathing difficulties, limited movement, and intense pain caused by the shrapnel inside my body. 😔 Some fragments cannot be removed because doing so could put my life at greater risk. 💔

I am humbly asking for your support 🤲 to help cover the costs of my surgeries, medical treatment, and ongoing hospital care. 💔🙏
