alisaie looked away from the mirror and to her brother. hah. for once there would be no trouble in holding them apart at least not with the blooming bruise on her lip. "a delivery to one of the villagers got ugly - don't worry, they look worse." they didn't, even if jullus had tried to punch the other guy.

they had known that staying here would be hard, that they'd meet people unable to accept their help.

she crossed her arms behind her back to hide her shaking hands, offering alphinaud a grin "do I look tough with this?"

"a fool who did not know better - they have been thoroughly scolded." hythlodaeus placed his hand over the wound on his arm, letting his healing magic take care of the rest. still, he squinted a little as the aether mended the skin.

...it did not fully close. with a sigh he looked up at hades "would you mind healing the rest? my lack of aether got me into this trouble and apparently will not get me out either"

the whole thing happened because a rather eager researcher had wanted to show hythlodaeus a new concept - most people by now knew of his limitations but not this one soul.

and similar to how its creator had been full of fervor, so had been the creature and it quickly trashed and bit. mainly, hythlodaeus. "needless to the say, this creation has to return to the drawing table" he huffed, rolling the concept crystal with his unhurt hand.

he paused before his usual smile ( perhaps a bit more tense than normally ) appeared on his face "now stop frowning hades, your hair will turn white with worry!"

"it's fine. I am fine" she insisted and rubbed her cheek one last time. enough self pity! she couldn't let anyone worry for her, this was just something that might as well happen in their field of work.

alisaie shook her head, getting rid of the last bit of unnecessary emotions before beaming a smile at eva "I am hungry, did you have lunch yet? - your treat though!"

1550 . meya is born as "amaya naeuri" to a clan of raen that co-exists with dragons. their parents watch with growing worry the garlean conquest of nagxia.

1552 . anticipating the conquest of doma & after the death of their clan, meya's parents flee on dragon back to eorzea.

1554 . the family arrives in the dravanian foreland's after a long journey. meya's parents are killed by ishgardian knights who were training in the wild. the dragon hrefna hears the commotion & kills the knights when she sees the naeuri's dead dragons. meya's father begs her to look after his child before dying & hrefna takes the child in - though she does not fully hear the name & gives them the similar sounding one of "meya" (*)

(*) their full name in dragonspeak is  meiy'ana - it is not a word per se but a sound, similar to how we associate "tralala" with songs. it's an old word, not even often used by dragons anymore & would describe a light sound on the wind. hrefna claims it's because that's how meya's crying sounded like .

1557 . after nidhogg awakes & lays waste to ferndale, meya gets permanently moved from hrefna's cave to moghome for their own safety .

1562 . the battle of silvertears skies takes place & the echo sounds across the realm, though meya has received their blessing as a mere babe still in yanxia, the echo causes them to have dreams of a burning sky . they also start to see a tall, robed figure with a black mask in their dreams. near tailfeathers they encounter a disillusioned knight of ishgard who takes a liking to the young raen & starts teaching them how to read & write & also how to wield the lance & bow.

1562-1570 . in 10 years, meya is not only trained by a knight but also by moghome's moogles & hrefna. magic is added to their teachings & refined in their dreams by the robed figure, though meya can never hear them speak.

1570-1572 . meya often travels away from the churning mists but always return. in 1572 when the calamity hits eorzea, meya decides to stay in the shroud. the dragons are in turmoil after what happened & hrefna leaves 3 dragonet with meya who hunts & provides for them in the north shroud. the elementals leave the four of them alone, partly due to meya's blessing, partly because meya deeply respects the rules & never over hunts, they just teach the dragons how to survive.

00 - 05 . meya raises the dragons until hrefna decides it it safe again for the hatchlings to return to the churning mists. meya remains in the shroud, establishing themself as a resourceful person to gridania & helps them rebuild. after the calamity, the black robed figure starts to give meya an impression of unease, though they cannot communicate why.

in that time they establish somewhat of a friendship with yda & papalymo - though bound to their 3 charges that they keep a secret - meya does not take them up on the offer of joining the scions until the 5th year. a bit before accepting the offer, while taking a carriage ride to gridania from an outpost, meya encounters the twins.
