heartbreaker ;

at first glance, ahn minhyun seems like your typical bad boy, and that is exactly what he wants people to think.

he doesn’t necessarily dislike people, but he prefers to be alone - or so he claims. in reality he craves the attention and affection of another person, but is too scared to admit it.

his baby brother was his best friend and biggest supporter. he was sick for the majority of his life, and while minhyun always held onto the hope he’d get better, his health only kept deteriorating and he passed away four years ago.

because his brother was often stuck in the hospital, minhyun would draw for him and help decorate his room.

he gave up on art after his passing, but reluctantly joined the art club this year after finding his old sketchbooks.

his mother developed a drinking problem and his parents got separated eventually. minhyun begged his father to take him with him, but the man just told him he couldn’t.

it takes him weeks to realize his father couldn’t stand looking at him any longer because he reminded him too much of his brother. he cries himself to sleep that night.

his mother gives him the silent treatment most of the time, but on some days she asks him why it couldn’t have been him instead. she doesn’t mean it, he knows that, but it still hurts.

he has distanced himself from his mother since then and hasn’t been in contact with his father for years either.

the only family he still talks to are his grandparents. he visits them whenever he can, and they’re the ones looking after his cats. (miso & mocha; they’re his babies.)

he’s a physics major, but doesn’t enjoy it as much as he tells everyone (including himself). it’s something he’s good at, though, and it opens up a lot of options after he graduates, so he sticks with it. (for now, hehe.)

while he doesn’t have time to play video games very often, the final fantasy series hold a special place in his heart, and he especially enjoys the soundtrack. (yes, his most played songs are ff ost. and yes, i want someone to find out because he’s a little embarrassed about it.)

he started boxing at a fairly young age and it’s become an outlet for him. he refuses to initiate any fights outside of the ring, however, and will usually walk away if someone tries to start anything with him.
