absolutely seymour's mood

inspired by barrel of monkeys. i wanted to create multiple dolls that grouped together.

here's a little clown doll that i made

i had some templates i made years ago that i hadn't used yet so i decided to use them here. first one is quite similar to ones that i've made before, i really like the dinosaur print on it. second one looks like a farmhouse chic eraserhead baby. third one i wanted to use any fabric i had with animals on it. fourth one is inspired by insects.

bottom one i wanted to rework how i do beaded limbs so i looked up how to make kandi cuffs and incorporated that into the design. i still need to work on the ends and i think i have an idea on how to fix that for next time.

a pdf of it is available on my neocities. the greys didn't print out well so it looks a bit different on there.

the next three pictures are all small clown portraits which I started to do whilst working on the main painting to wipe off my brush in between colors when needed but things got out of hand so now I've ended up with thirty friends.

two new dolls that my instagram followers voted upon. the top one are the winning parts and the bottom one are the losing parts. the top one i used all old shirts and one pajama pant for it. the bottom one i wanted to do another patchwork doll and revisit making teeth.

this was a very interesting doll to work on since i haven't made many humans before. i think it's a vast improvement compared to the previous humans i have done. i feel i have figured things out a bit better especially how to do the hair. he turned out very cute and i'm glad juan liked him!

had my instagram followers vote upon the body parts again. top one are the winning parts and bottom one are the losing parts. a friend of mine gave me a bunch of fabric scraps so i used them for both of these dolls. i wanted the top one to have a ton of different textures. even the three black buttons are all different fabrics.

doll for the month of september. a very simple one inspired by pumpkins.

here is the doll for the month of august. i already had my black and white fabrics out for a different project so i thought to also use them for the doll of the month.

doll for the month of july. inspired by the kissy face doll from before to make another doll that is in action. this one is eating a pea. you can place the pea on other side of the tongue to make it look like the pea revived them or killed them

here is the doll for the month of june. this doll is intended to be the younger sibling of a previous doll that i have made inspired by godzilla.
