shine

     “you know you’re my favourite and i know that i’m yours !” mina defended her statement. mina always found herself feeling brighter when she was around the other. the happiness and fun was genuine and it definitely translated on cameras or in front of fans. “for sure, we are,” mina nodded, “what was that name they gave us again ? they always comment it whenever we post pictures.” she laughed slightly, she always thought it was interesting what a frenzy the dreamers could be thrown into with just a few clicks. “i mean, i guess i applaud them for just vaping instead of smoking something worse, you know ?” she added innocently although she probably sounded stupid. “i didn’t even THINK of doing these things when i was younger. it’s just like –– why do thirteen year olds act so old now ?! they should enjoy their time as children !”

     she wrapped herself in her arms as if the cool nature of their conversation was enough to chill the actual ambiance. it seemed in such conversations with jaebin she couldn’t WIN. it was a difficult situation when she used to care ( what she still thinks is caring ) deeply for someone and then completely abandoning their lifestyle –– it was as if she had forsaken him. though sometimes she could be blind to her OWN mistakes, she seldom liked to accept them. “i’m not calling y-YOU a fool yourself,” she attempted to clarify, stuttering slightly, “and i don’t think i’m better than you, i’m just trying to spare you some memories that you might find embarrassing in the future.” she couldn’t quite find the right words. she wished that he would actually take her advice for once. “it’s never too late for change and i hope you remember that,” she huffed, “AND it’s not huge changes. just baby steps.”

     mina always thought the duality if jaebin was interesting and something that she couldn’t always put her finger on. during their time together, she sometimes found it hard to fully understand him or his actions, but it was during a phase where she was trying not to care so much. all aspects, in her eyes, backfired. she sighed, “you’re always so stubborn. don’t you think that sometimes others are there to –– look out for you ?” under her breath she mumbled, “even if things didn’t even on the best of terms,” although she was sure that it was covered by the blaring music. “it’s only the beginning of the tour. i think us, collectively, should start on the right foot. we’ll have the rest of the time to make fools of ourselves,” she said the last part with a slightly cold tone.

mina: tbh. i should know that by now. i think u laugh in the face of anything mina: u know what has actually rly gotten me in the dancing mood ? this release of mamma mia 2 mina: ugh. this is why you’re my bias in saturn. your compliments ? straight to the heart.

     mina furrowed her eyebrows with mock offense, “hey ! your room is my room –– no matter where we go.” she arched an eyebrow, “i may seem boring to you, but you wouldn’t want anyone but me ! even the fans know.” she stuck her tongue out as they seemed to be quite the duo, especially during times where they were heavily promoting. “i just feel like the world is moving so fast and these kids are growing up so quickly ? i’ve never been super good at guessing ages, but i’d say they were around thirteen. i mean –– would their parents approve ?” she knew that if she were one of the parents, she would be horrified once she got over the confusion. “okay, i’m glad you’re all right with my word vomit. i was afraid that with such a story i was going to drive someone away.”

     mina knew that the tour was most likely taking a toll on all of them. although, the amount of tired each one of them showed was quite different, but as a dancer she felt as though she could relate. mina looked at sangwon with sympathetic eyes and ruffled their hair lovingly –– they were only two years younger than her but somehow she felt an obligation to protect them. “maybe i should invest in better headphones then ? i’ve always eyed those noise cancelling ones,” she let off a soft smile. “yes, if is the keyword since i feel like we rarely ever are alone, you know ?” she gave a little pat on their cheek as they leaned, “oh, i do recommend a nap. hiding from managers ? i’m afraid i have to support that as well.”

    “–– i don’t go out in public by myself a lot,” mina began as she looked out the window longingly. her days recently ( much like everyone else’s ) are just filled with preparation with a side of a little more preparation for what was thus far the most important chapter of her life. “but the other day i did happen to go out and it reminded me why i don’t –– you hear the strangest conversations in the weirdest spots,” she huffed. “like these young kids were talking about vaping when i was weighing my bananas in the grocery store ?” she looked at the other questioningly, “i don’t know it just didn’t seem like the proper place or time !” she shook her head, “sorry, did i interrupt you saying something ? i know i kind of just rambled.”

     “for me ?” mina asked with a shocked expression, “you thought of me for something ?” her heart felt whole that miles was bringing her something. she hadn’t asked for anything from his trip and would’ve thought that she was that last thing that he should be concerned with bringing a souvenir. “you really shouldn’t have,” she continued as she looked in the direction he disappeared. the anticipation was building. “i’m very thankful, oppa !” she called after him.

      “i sincerely hope it’s because you think this is good news ? or at least a good thing ?” she prodded with a smile. “you don’t think this picture i posted is cute ?! i mean i won’t say that the stylist did the best job this time, but i figured we could satisfy the minomi fans ?” she laughed. “or maybe you’re just excited for this comeback ?”
