I got sick of listing this on Etsy. It’s highly unlikely anyone would run across this, but it is just as unlikely on Etsy where I have to pay to list. So...
I made these and I will sell you one. If you’re interested, inquire within.

Things keep getting worse.
My grandma has been in ICU since Friday. Renal failure. I found out she has a dog (got her 1 1/2 weeks ago) and said dog "isn't eating". After 5ish hours of baiting with rotisserie chicken, tricking the terrified and emaciated pup, I finally got her into my car for the 2 hr drive home. She's sleeping soundly in the bathroom and I'm stressing totally. Patience patience patience. Rescues are so complicated. I'm just so concerned she feels abandoned. Poor, sweet angel.
I feel the same way about capsaicin that the dude from My Big Fat Greek Wedding felt about Windex. I probably eat 8 peppers a week. I spray my veggie garden with pepper spray-eat very spicy food if I'm sick-believe green chiles can go in anything-put Tobasco in my beer...
My whole life I've had a hard time digesting protein. Most of it, I can't at all, though some of it is ok. Took about 10 years to develop an ability to digest soy protein.
My joints are very bad and always have been. They are getting worse. I'm starting to reach for "unscientific" things... Things to try to slow down the destruction of time. Let this be the first post to describe my issues. I will check in here and there to say if changes happen:
My hands shake when I hold anything stomach high for longer than 5 min. If I am doing something higher in a more athletic way, my hands go numb after a few minutes and I drop whatever I'm holding. All my joints are bad, some are extremely bad.
My skin is thin, so fine lines show up like crazy. I have fine and thin hair, so if there are are any changes it'll be obvious.
I'm taking collagen hydrolysate once a day. No clue if this will help any of these things, but hey, it's worth a try.

Literally in tears that my nephew is old enough to have an email address and immediately reached out to his aunt for internet guidance.
Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius puts it, “The impediment to action advances action. What stands in the way becomes the way.”
We must disengage from the free will of others even when we want to help. Denying this is the heart of and first step to giving permission to be used/abused. You can only help those who want to help themselves.
We teach our girls to be perfect and we teach our boys to be brave.

This is so true that I can't stand it.
I like the word hangry. It's succinct, expressive. I was hangry, waiting for food that was fought over in only a way couples can. I wanted to make something at home, he wanted to order delivery. The location is meat-heavy and I didn't want to deal with a special order that would only let me down.
He insisted. Thus, I had to wait for the next hour or so for food that I knew would disappoint me, only to make something for myself in the end anyway.
This did come to pass. Even after phone calls from the establishment suggesting meat items that my husband asserted were 'not welcome', my burrito was full of bacon. It also had an entire onion that was not chopped as well as a heavy log of old refried beans.
I have never, ever thrown a burrito away before. Yesterday was momentus. The first time. It's hard to understand why it was so infuriating since it was just a burrito. We didn't even have to pay for it. In moments of being hangry it is hard to determine if our rage is justified. I had waited long outside my comfort zone for a disgusting burrito that killed my appetite the second I saw the contents. A true disappointment.
It is an overreaction to be mad at the entire world the rest of the day, but I was. From this restaurant I'd had one of the best burritos ever. To turn around and make the worst ever... Well... I'm sure you get the picture.

Maxillary Artery
It's a weird week.
Tomorrow is my last day in Boston. In the last two days I've gotten three very strange messages-- one from a pissed off stranger on Craigslist who didn't like that I put my location as the northern most part of Dorchester. The next was an essay about religion, death, science and self realization from a boy who was in my brother's karate class 18 years ago. The last from my husband's ex.
I feel like I'm in some Greek mythology and these are signs from the gods trying to warn me about something. Too bad none of it makes any sense. Oh well!

Sobering thought for the day. There are an estimated TWO HUNDRED BILLION GALAXIES in the known universe.
In our own Milky Way there are one hundred billion stars. Of these, as a sweeping average, 1.6 planets exist per star. And for comparison, there are one trillion stars in our neighboring galaxy, Andromeda.
So, let's just say there are about 500 billion stars per galaxy and 1.6 planets for each star. That means there are approximately 8 x 10^23 planets.
For reference, there are about 40 billion Earth sized planets in the habitable zones of stars in the Milky Way. If other galaxies had similar numbers, there would be 8x10^21 Earth like planets in the universe.
So, if you lived to be 250 billion years old, the number of those planets would be equivalent to the cumulative MILLISECONDS of your life span. And estimating about 1 million reactions in a eukaryotic cell per ms, that would be soooooo many reactions in your enormously ancient lifetime that numbers cannot convey the magnitude properly.
Just sit there for a moment to consider it, to consider the possibilities. Life, change, opportunity, mutation, evolution, experience... There is so much possibility in this universe. In the quiet of that number exists anything.

I think I’m about to break up with my life. All goals, all plans, all future ambition. I’m going to travel gypsy style around the US with my guy and my dog. Just go. I want to be free... Get some kind of shitty remote job, sell everything I own and just be a part of the lives of the people I love, the people I’ve met on my city-to-city lifestyle thus far. I don’t have kids. I don’t have responsibility. I think I can just let go and be. I think I should. Why shouldn’t I?
“Now, about your hair.”
My hair.
“Your gray hair. It’s a difficult thing for most women, going gray, and most choose to color their hair. But you don’t.”
I did color it, for a while, and then it was just so much trouble. My father had gorgeous steel gray hair, and it turned silver quite early because he had been a prisoner of war in Korea. He came back to us whole and healthy, but I think he started to turn gray pretty soon after. If I didn’t think it looked good on me, I would color it. Women should do whatever makes them feel good, but I do wish that we would accept our aging selves.
“Our culture is obsessed with youth.”
Especially if you’re in the public eye. They think you shouldn’t age…
Interview with Emmylou Harris in 2013. I remember seeing her gorgeous silver hair 6 or 7 years ago and thinking people were crazy for not wanting it. I get why… It means “you’re old”. Somehow that’s a bad thing. Somehow we shouldn’t want that. Man, I fucking do. Looking forward to silver hair, retirement, and not giving a shit.
