The Pleasurable Rewards Of Service

Archie grew up in a good family, loving and caring. The family estate was a great place to grow up with his older brother. Their parents weren’t home a lot, but the nannies and other household staff took great care of them.

Archie was used to having a butler, footmen and maids around. Many English aristocrats were having a rough time financially, but Archie’s parents were successful serial entrepreneurs. They had more money than anyone could ever count. Archie’s older brother, Charles, had recently joined their parents’ company as he was destined to take over the empire.

A disastrous crash of the company private jet changed everything. At once, Archie’s whole family was gone. Suddenly, the 18 year old was all alone (with his servants of course).

As the new lord, he had an oil painting made posing in front of the estate. As tradition required. He was now in charge of the companies, for which he had the boards hire CEOs.

Despite growing up around servants, he had never really grown accustomed to it. It felt weird to have these people obey any order, behaving so submissive towards him as if he were some kind of God. He didn’t like it and fired all live-in staff. Except for Peter.

Peter was about his own age and had been in training to become the personal valet to Archie. But Archie had always felt that servitude didn’t fit Peter. He was too full of himself, too arrogant to submit and serve another man.

Over the following months the 2 became friends. Peter slowly stopped doing his chores as a servant and more and more became a friend to Archie. Slowly but surely, he even started asking Archie to fetch drinks or wipe up a stain. Archie complied without complaining, without even thinking about it.

Then one day Peter just said it. “I think it would be fun if you’d put on my old uniform and served me for a day. After all that time I served you, a good friend like me deserves to be taken care of. Don’t you think?”

Archie doubted and resisted, but eventually Peter convinced him. As he put on the uniform, he felt a strange sensation of excitement and nervousness.

“What can I do for you, young master?” Archie said and bowed his head. Peter laughed. “You are a natural! You look amazing. Get me a coffee and then resume the at attention position besides me by the couch.”

Archie obediently served a coffee and took the position by the couch. As he stood there, still like a statue, Peter started videocalling a friend. “Dude, I have this guy wearing that stupid uniform I had to wear. He is obeying me completely. I might have something good here. Look at him!” He flipped the camera and started filming Archie, who didn’t move the slightest.

“Boy, come over here and sit on all fours. I need a footrest.” Again, Archie obeyed without hesitation.

Over the following weeks, Peter had Archie submit completely. Archie even moved into the servants quarters while Peter took the master bedroom. He started inviting friends over who were shocked by how Peter managed to get himself into this position.

One day, Peter was in his study. He had now taken over informal control of the companies and had actually proven to be a successful CEO. He stood and looked at the oil painting of Archie posing before the mansion as lord of the manor. Peter loved that painting, as it displayed the man that Archie once was.

Peter rung the bell and Archie appeared from the servant’s corridors. “Yes, master?” He said.

Peter looked at Archie, the painting and back at Archie. “This painting here got me thinking. You look so powerful posing there, in your tuxedo and all. But look at you now. You answer to me, your former servant. You wear my uniform and obey my orders. I have taken control of your business, but only through you. I run the estate, but you still own everything.

That isn’t right. A master should own, a servant should serve. I had my legal team draw up the contracts to sign over everything to me. Your businesses, the family estate. Everything, even your last penny and the uniform on your back. A lifetime employment contract is also included, as well as a monthly allowance in case we decide to go our separate ways later.

I need you to sign it.”
