yamamoto taught himself to play the guitar (in his last year of middle school, bc he thought it looked cool and would impress girls). he has an abundance of determination and good hand/finger control, he gets pretty good at it.
fukunaga has a surprisingly nice singing voice, soft and tuneful (nobody knew about it, including him, until kenma heard him singing to himself in the club room, when he thought everyone had gone home, sometime near the end of their third year).
it was a rainy afternoon with nothing to do that got tora dragging out the guitar, not expecting shōhei to start humming along with the tune. there are some songs they both know already, and some they've only heard of recently, by swapping music recommendations. they get through an hour of so's 'set' before shōhei's voice gets tired, and they notice the time.
now it's a common occurrence, when there's nothing else to do, or they're just craving the closeness. tora sat on the sofa, playing chords and riffs, while shōhei sings along - sat next to him, or laying on the floor, or balanced on tora's lap facing each other with just about enough room for the guitar in between, or lying down on the sofa with either his head or feet on tora's knees.
tora cherishes these occasions - other than watching his stand up sets, it's by far the longest period of time that he gets to hear his boyfriend's voice. shōhei's unused to, but very appreciative of the focus and carefulness with which tora plays, and how soft he gets during and afterwards.
