Thomas had crept through ruin and rain to reach his target, the Hamlet. Such a bountiful target must be scouted properly before Thomas' fellow bloodsuckers could even think about raiding this virgin source of blood.
Keeping low the small Manservant encroached closer to the hamlet, eyeing up the hamlet's tavern as he went. Surely he could pick up a quick snack from a local town drunk?
Druel had been drinking again. It wasn’t something he often did due to having to hold his inner beast back, which was something requiring concentration, but the occasional tragedy could undo his inhibitions in an instant. Even so, he tried not to get too inebriated.
By the time he left the tavern, night had fallen. It was dark and he was tipsy. Just enough to take the edge off of his pain. Some rustling nearby made him spin on his heel in suspicion. “Who’s... who’s there?”
Thomas panics, stopping in his tracks and ducking down. He's hoping to get the drop on what he assumes to be a beggar on account of Druels dress.
Unfortunately for Thomas his heel snaps down on a discarded twig, the loud crack echoing through out the night.
Although his senses weren’t terribly heightened in human form, Druel could still detect someone’s eyes on him. He was too paranoid not to.
The moment Thomas’s heel snapped the twig, Druel’s left arm twitched. His beast wanted to kill whoever dared to disturb him, but he took a moment to breathe. “Just come on out. I won’t hurt you if you don’t hurt me.”
Thomas is silent for a moment, his black eyes wide in fear of being caught out before he comes up with a plan. He will get his free meal tonight.
"Can you help me get up? I've fallen and can't get up!" Thomas cried in a shrill voice, praying on the baron's life that this beggar looking character would buy it.
Druel gave a heavy sigh. Of course he’d catch the one idiot in the Hamlet who got stuck in the mud, though he couldn’t help but be suspicious. Why was he hiding in the first place? Slowly, Druel walked on over.
“All right. I’ll help you, but I want some answers first. I don’t recognize you at all. Care to explain who you are?” the abomination asked, crossing his arms. “We don’t usually get visitors out here.”
Thomas smirks as he hears Druel get closer, "Oh me? I'm just looking for a quick drink," Thomas said slyly before lurching forward with his needle like nose aimed at Druel's chest.
Druel only had a moment to look at the strange individual in front of him. Thomas looked odd, horrifying even. Something that—
He barely was able to jump back at the lunge. The needle-nose didn’t quite impale him, but it did leave a gash that pained him. Druel grimaced. “What the—“
The manservant's wings buzz with excitement as he feels his proboscis lengthen with the sweet taste of Druel's blood.
Thomas turns around suddenly after charging at Druel, wings buzzing excitedly in the nights cool air. He goes in for another attack, chattering loudly about getting a "Fresh meal".
Whatever this thing was, it wasn’t normal. Was anything normal in this damn Hamlet? He gritted his teeth together.
He could feel his beast rising up within him, wanting to respond with pure rage. Given the situation, he didn’t think it a bad idea. However, he unlocked his chains enough to take a length of it and whip the vampiric being.
Just that small taste of blood was enough to send Thomas into a frenzy as he charges agian, his insect like wings buzzing wildly. Only to recoil back as the chains collide with his pale face.
The blow forces Thomas back as his mouth opens, revealing rows of needle like teeth hiding behind long rotted away lips.
