You get kidnapped and dragged into the pitch black belly of an enormous submarine that, until recently, you figured was an impossibly massive animal that has had run-ins with ocean vessels and crippled the ship that was supposed to hunt it. This was all after after nearly drowning at sea in the dark. You are confined in a room with a singular meal in your stomach as one of the fellow guys you are kidnapped with attempts to strangle one of your captors, who you think doesn't speak any of your known languages.

All of the potential damage from those incidents seems to be reversed and your attitude does a 180 when you're told, of all things, by the commander of the vessel (who's the finest human specimen you've ever seen btw) that you cannot leave, but that you are welcome to be free onboard as you wish. The guy personally wines and dines you, intricately explains his ship, appeals to your love of research, says that he has YOUR books as some of his favorites, and shows off the ins and outs of his miracle of engineering, and you're talking him up like he's the greatest guy around and that everything is peachy as if, again, you didn't just get the deep sea version of Beauty and the Beast'd and that your ass is NOT ever seeing your friends, family, country, work, or just about anything above water ever again.
