Mao's response here at first reads as him ignoring what Ritsu's trying to tell him in favor of only focusing on the part he wants to hear, and Ritsu even comments on this
However ☝️ I think there's at least some intention behind Mao's words here. He hears Ritsu talking about how he's fundamentally different from him and everyone else around him. About how he thinks he'll never be able to relate to Mao. But Mao instead takes this and says, "but here's one thing we have in common, right?"
He's not ignoring what Ritsu's saying. He's trying to prove him wrong
To further prove my point, Mao was just at the beginning of the story talking about how he's always excelled at reading the room, so it's really unlikely imo that he genuinely just didn't understand what Ritsu was saying
