you know I love the thrill of the rush.

“ RICH ISN’T THE same as being famous, you know that right ? ” aaron feels his headache begin to worsen. “ and just because your dad is on the news doesn’t mean you are. ”

“well, that’s what we used to call fashion ! i still remember ed hardy bein so edgy back in the day , if you weren’t wearing it you weren’t cool .. but fashion evolves, we evolve - go figure.. what are you doing watching jersey shore anyway ? isn’t the show .. you know .. a little outdated ?”

          “i would like to be excluded from that narrative. i absolutely did not consider that to be fashion. all the boys would wear ed hardy shirts and i would just blink the shirts were very. obnoxious? i had nothing else to watch and i had to keep myself entertained if not i’d end up talking someones ear off like i usually do, and like i am right now.”

“ Y O U see i would, but then i’d have no entertainment around this boring town. plus, what would they learn if i told them ?” he could barely even afford his own pair of pants, much less a new pair for someone else. that’s looking at people’s poor attempts to dress themselves honestly did make his day. seeing them make these mistakes and having the money to do better made him feel better about his own fashion choices. “ever thought about just starting a new show ?”

          “you’re right about that, but i’m sure the hot pink leopard print would be burning to your eyes at some point. they would learn to not wear such hideous clothing and they would avoid embarrassment. a new show? do you think i can emotionally invest myself into something like that?”

“ nothing to be jealous of ? i –– ” jia looked around as if she was searching for the hidden cameras. “ is that a joke ? ”

‘‘oh word? i didn’t know. what does he even do right now? is he still a dj? the makeup was horrible. if they asked you to be on the show would you accept?’’, she says as she raises an eyebrow.

           “well, i think he does dj still, but he also just finished filming the newest season of jersey shore which i’m probably going to end up watching happily since their fashion choices aren’t as shitty as they were before. i don’t even think i’m allowed, i’m not from new jersey they’d probably say no.”

“ F U N N Y , could’ve sworn i saw you with some pink leopard pants just the other day,” nolan teased lightly. of course, he didn’t really have a clue what the other was talking about. besides the screencaps of the show and the oh-so popular pictures of snooki back in the day, he’d never seen anything from it. “why didn’t you just turn it off ? better yet – why are you telling me about it ?”

         serena let out a chuckle at his remark, rolling her eyes playfully and shaking her head, “nolan, that definitely wasn’t me but if you ever do see anybody in pink leopard print pants, please just buy them new pants and burn the leopard print ones. i didn’t turn it off because i really just had nothing else to watch im caught up on all my shows so i was stuck watching that.”

“ show choir is not tiring, ” jia defended, huffing and crossing her arms over her chest. “ there’s no reason to be jealous, serena. ”

“ YEAH BECAUSE I’M sure you have so much experience with paparazzi. ”

“ I’M PRETTY SURE that stuff was scripted or something. you seriously think that was real ? ”

jia nodded, no longer counting serena’s opinion as valid. “ and that’s okay, not everyone has good taste or appreciation for the arts. i just hope one day you’re introduced to the art of theatre and get to experience what it’s like witnessing a live performance, should you be so lucky. ”

“ I DON’T KNOW, i think the music in the 2000′s was pretty fun. and by boring, do you mean they mind their own business ? is that really such a bad thing ? ”

“ GOD DON’T REMIND me about 2010 culture. i’ve experienced both that and early 2000′s culture and i have to say i would choose early 2000′s in a heartbeat. ”

                          there is a look of exasperation on his face as the girl continues on with, what he deemed, the pointless conversation. “well i tried to be polite, then you annoyed me, then i was rude,” he spoke as if explaining repercussions to a five year old. “i am living a little. in fact, i’m living a lot. see, look,” he begins to take deep exaggerating breaths, the sarcasm evident in his tone.

                         “i did it to be polite,” his eyes mimicked her eye roll in a dramatic manner, the words slurred under his soft voice, “you’re supposed to say hello back and then leave it there. did you not learn manners growing up or did you come out the womb talking out of your ass?” he forces a fake smile, “and i’m not really a peach guy, must be why.”
