Thank you to everyone who commented in their tags or messaged me. Indeed, today is “Martin and Bosco Day”. I originally whimsically blazed this photo on 13 July 2022. I never expected Martin and Bosco to travel so far and make so many new friends. The experience has been such a gift for me.

If I could magically go back in time and change just one thing about DS9, I'd introduce Ezri to the show a lot earlier, all the way back in season 4. Instead of the never-seen Counsellor Telnorri, we would have Counsellor Tigan, fresh out of the Academy and determined to prove herself. She could be a background character at first, briefly seen in the context of Miles continuing to get therapy (which would also address the issue that the events of Hard Time are literally never mentioned again).

Then we could start seeing more of her as a person. She could be friends with Ziyal. She could maybe have a bit of tension with Jadzia, just to explore the perspective of an unjoined Trill who doesn't think joining is all that great. We could eventually have a whole episode focused around her, introduce the fraught relationships she has with her family even before the joining; it could replace Honor Among Thieves and still tie into the Orion Syndicate thing. And then eventually we would see how the unexpected, unwanted joining changed her. We would see the people in her life react to the change. It would have been great and I'll never not regret we didn't get to see it.

I've been in mega turbo depresso mode for basically this entire year and one of the big indicators has been me not doing or wanting to do photography. I've struggled with it since moving to Colorado and never really being able to adapt to the new environment, but this has been worse. For years I was going out at least once a week to take pictures, if not more. This year I've been lucky to rally myself to go out once a month.

This past weekend, me and my fiance went camping and found this place that was so beautiful and green and vibrant and damp and it smelled like wet earth in a way that made me want to cry. I am feeling so inspired and excited about photography in a way I haven't been for a long time.

I miss when ads were a single click and then they’re gone. Now every ad has a minimum of three phases where you watch a video, exit the still frame of fake gameplay, and then exit the app download. That doesn’t even touch on the ones that forcibly take you to another app after opening a tab in safari without you ever touching the screen.

I hate advertising. I hate that you can’t do anything without companies jumping down your throat with mostly bullshit ads. I hate that billboards exist. I hate that every company unanimously decided to make their ads longer and longer. I hate that ad blockers try to charge you money and there are in app purchases to remove ads. I hate that my attention has become commodified. I hate that there’s nothing I can do about it.
