Just an inferiority complex

Chuckling, Ry commented, pulling the man, having noticed how he got quiet when the wasps filled the area. They were bred for battle, making them hard to scare, as they likely sensed his approach before even the clan's elders. He pulled the large man into the home of the clan head, smirking as he did. Tea was served, yet Genkai and Taguro both sat before the Hokage, allowing him to be a normal ninja, not a noble man, if only for the moment.

"Seems the wasps remember you from when we were younger."

The wasps buzzed within the house, having stopped at the foot of the Hokage, offering a gentle bow of their head before flying off again to continue their respective duties. The clan members who were on duty had completed their mission, and soon enough, wasps would enter with them, which would be useful as they had to do with the condition of the land of fire and the feudal lord. Looking at Hashirama, the sentence took on a different meaning as pleasure was relative and he would not mind helping his friend find relief.

“That’s surprising. I thought their lifespan was far shorter,” he breathed as he watched them. He was used to them; there were a lots of them in their old Senju compound, however they weren’t this big. And they certainly didn’t have such good manners. 

Hashirama bowed to the wasp too. 

This part always gave me a lot of feels but I just noticed something, Hashirama was the only non-Uchiha to be shown the tablet (I emphasised the ‘shown’ part because Orochimaru & Kabuto also kinda saw it but no Uchiha invited them over and explained the contents of the tablet like this).

It’s also kinda sad how they are standing there facing each other like enemies rather than standing side-by-side as comrades. I don’t know but if I were actually there, in the room, I think I would have got this very weird vibe from both of them. 

‘This isn’t how it’s supposed to be, this isn’t how I want it to be, but what can I do?’

Hashirama wants to reach out but he wants to give Madara some space too. Madara doesn’t really want to be so distant either.

This scene was kind of like Madara’s last token of friendship. It’s the last time he was willing to show Hashirama he trusted him.
