i miss you being next to me. the way i fit right in the crook of your arm and the way i could here your heart beat. i miss singing in the car with you, long road trips and the way you grasped the door every time i hit the brakes. i miss holding your hand, the noise you made when i rubbed your neck or scratched your back. i miss sitting next to you even if we both said nothing. i miss laughing. laughing so hard with you i couldn’t breathe. i never thought you’d take my breathe away in a way that hurt as bad as now. i miss the voice you talk to the dog in and you asking where the food in the fridge is even when it’s right in front of you. i miss your drool soaking through my shirt after a night shift, the way you loved falling asleep on me knowing i was still awake. i miss you smiling at me. the tight squeeze you’d give my leg or hand when you knew i wasn’t okay but people were around. i miss the way that i felt nothing was as bad as it was because at least i had you. you were home and now i have no idea where i live.
