" I’m not. ” He turns away from the other man, stooping to pick his briefcase up off the floor. Did Edward really enjoy his company or did he just like toying with him? Tempting him. The case rested on the edge of the lawyer’s desk and opened just enough for a few papers to be slid inside before, then locked shut again. He pauses at the last pair of comments, fingers lingering on the briefcase’s latches. " —Is that right? "

Edward watches the back of the man's head  for a few seconds before nonchalantly hiding both of his hands inside his pockets, sighing a bit helplessly. The other man despite his crimes still had an ethical code. Something  to hold on to that kept him from jumping  over the edge like some of his other clients. But Ed could fix that. "...Of course." He fluttered his lashes in fake disbelief. "Mr. Levoisier, I care deeply about my clients' safety. I do not think prison is a healthy environment for a man like you."

Every Wednesday, I go to St. Paul’s Cathedral on Ashland. They have a soup kitchen.
