Watched the film Obsession (great piece of work, loved it. Kudos to tht young director and the actors for pulling this off) and it gave me a terrible idea.
The Batfamily and Batsis have had a stranged relationship for years recently. Not inherently bad, Batsis still cares about them and does her part in joining dinners, hanging out when they can, and it's all very polite and fraternal enough, but she's got more independent and putting distance between them to find her own identity outside the Wayne's shadow, outside Gotham. Given she was the only not involved in crime fighting, she was obviously neglected and a bit sidelines growing up, and while that was nobody's intention, it still created a drift and the Batfam are just realising it because they're used to her doing most of the emotional work by brushing it off and accomodating to them until she grew up, did some healing and decided to draw a line at last. They all miss her, they wish things were back how they used to, with her always so close to them no matter what. Or how things when they were all younger and Batsis still looked at them with admiration and pure love.
Now she feels far away. She has her own friends, her career, her own dreams, and a life entirely built on her own and outside of her family. And she keeps drifting towards it, no longer having so much time for them. It's not the same. Her feelings are obviously not the same. And it hurts them so bad. She cares about others now and gives them what was once theirs.
OR alternative case: The relationship was always bad and Batsis always felt neglected so she grew colder towards them and now is simply gentle and polite out of cordiality, and the Batfam are now seeing her for who she is and want to be part of her life. Want her to come back to them and let them all be one happy family again (if they ever truly were).
So one of the Batfamily, haven't decided who but for now I see Tim or Damian (but just imagine whoever you see fit, because the person who does it in question doesn't matter), gets one of those One Wish Willows. Either by accident or someone gives it to them to try. They're exceptical at first, obviously, and don't really believe it works, but in a moment of impulsivity, mixed with curiosity and longing, they do it:
"I wish [Batsis] loves us more than anyone in the fucking world"
And then they snap the willow in half. Nothing feels different at first. Nothing has seemingly changed. They chastise themselves for even trying it, a bit dissapointed.
But suddenly, Batsis' attitude takes a 190 degrees turn with them. She's moving back into the manor, claiming she misses them too much to stay away. She sold her apartment even. She's openly loving and adoring with them. She's gotten clingy too, perhaps a little too much, but the Batfamily are all so happy! She loves them. They're not losing her. They have fun together again and she smiles brightly at them, laughs with them, goes along with whatever they say with a smile that sometimes seems like it's pulling her skin
But as time passes, her behaviour gets more...irrational. Weird. Creepy. The Batfamily began to realise something is wrong with her. Whoever made the wish knows. She's also weirdly possessive and jealous too, wanting their attention all to herself and throwing tantrums when they ignore her or simply don't go along with the invisible script she's following now. It gets to the point she injures herself even on some of her breakdowns, cries and begs and screams.
The one who make the wish eventually comes to this awful realization, and so does the rest of them...
This is not Batsis.
Their sister is trapped somewhere within her own body.
And the worst part is...they're not as eager to fix this as they should, because when she's well, she's back to being all over them and devoted and compliant. And they're selfish.
Wanna know what would suck? Little Tim meeting his neighbor's, the Waynes, newly adopted kid, developing a crush on them, them hating him and then after a bunch of bullshit, becoming his crush's step brother.

So, this is kind of weird to ask now that I'm typing it out, but my curiosity has been eating at me lately.
Around a year or two, maybe even more, back, I tried a certain chat bot ai that my friends recommended, it was pretty popular then and not so much now.
If I am not mistaken, please tell me if I am, didn't you have a pretty popular account on there where you would post DC, Marval, Avatar, and other chat bots?
Again, sorry if this question is a little weird and if I am mistaken. I recently found your blog, and the writing took me back to the days me and my friends used to use it. Of course its been probably over a year since any of us did but I couldn't help but feel a little nostalgic.
Sorry if this question is weird and uncomfortable. You don't have to answer it, really.
Hello! Don't worry, I don't find this weird at all
Sadly, I'm not the person you're looking for. I never had anything in chat boy ai. Sorry 💔
She´s the eldest daughter. She's always the same age as Jason and is close to both Dick and Jason. She is the mother to her siblings, to her dad, in every friend group. She loves hard and gets hurt even harder. She is calm on the outside, but has so much anxiety that she cries like a little child in the shower when she can't hold it in.
She pushes her emotions so deep down that she no longer knows how to feel them. And when it becomes too much, the emotions explode, and she turns mean in those moments.
But she is kind, so kind that she is seen as weak and easy to use. And she knows it. And it breaks her heart. Because she has so much love and wants to share it, to make others feel loved. But that usually backfires. Because not everyone believes they deserve to be loved, they see her as overbearing and naive.
She was the "easy" kid, the mature one. The one that everyone said had great potential. The one you didn't need to worry about, cause she could handle herself. She could handle the weight of everything and a little bit more. So Bruce doesn't have to worry about her, which leads to him spending less time with her. He never really remembers what she likes or is doing or what she dreams about. He doesn't know what her future plans look like, even though she has told him 100 times.
Which leaves Batsis to believe that her father barely knows her, and she gets proof of it, here and there. He will say something about her that will be so inaccurate that it leaves a bad taste in her mouth, and she feels a stab wound in her heart. But because there is an expectation on her shoulders, she seeks his validation. Validation, she never gets. Whatever it is, if it's an A on a test or a successful business deal, it's nothing to be congratulated for. If she isn't perfect, then she needs to fix herself, quickly.
Sometimes Dick will ask her why she is always so stressed and worried about things. He will tell her to calm down, not understanding that she can't afford to calm down or not to worry. That it's a need deep in her soul, if she isn't caring for others, if she isn't solving things for them, she is nothing. She has no purpose.
And not because Bruce or anyone else has told her so. She took this role onto herself. She decided, as that calm, non-problematic child, that this was her duty to carry. And she ran with it. Cause no one told her she didn't need to. No one showed her that she could lean on them. That she could rest without feeling guilty. That she could make mistakes, and it was fine. That no one would hate her for putting herself first.
Did my own experience and memories as the eldest daughter, oldest child, bleed into this? Yes, it did
OMG OEEÑIORFNER Thank you so much for quoting me, I'm flattered my Batsis inspired you to write this!!💕🙌
I don't know how you did it, but you actually understood her character perfectly. Like, this is mostly what I have in mind for her. I can't believe you could think of all that just by reading my short I wrote in a impulse of inspiration at 2:00 A.M on my phone oiasednew. This is so well-worded and good. You capture Batsis down to the last detail of what I imagined. I can't wait to read more of what you come up with 👀
The only difference is that my Batsis is actually younger than both Dick and Jason, closer to Tim's age, but she's equally terrifying to them in her own right because she's the one who actually handles the house with Alfred, and they know better than disobey her. It's also what makes them take her for granted, ironically. They assume she's always going to be there for them, no matter what. They're used to it. Bruce trusts her so much with her independence and reliability he feels she doesn't actually need him as much. She's the easy kid, the one who has never given him problems or made him worry. He favours her...and at the same time neglects her lol. She's been playing a caretaker role since she was a child and arrived to the manor, realising how things worked and feeling she had to make herself "easy" for her family to accept her. Even Alfred has contributed to those insane standards she has for herself. He doesn't see anything too wrong with how she acts. He thinks it's how a respectable eldest daughter should behave, considering her circumstances. However, he's also the only one who knows when she needs a break and pushes herself too hard. It's complicated.
She's been performing so long she doesn't know how to stop. She fears she can't anymore....that's why she gets a best friend that's the complete opposite of her and it's going to teach her healthier boundaries whether Batsis wants them or not :D. Which it's funny because this best friend isn't exactly the healthiest person in the universe, since she's Oliver Queen's daughter and her family is in general even more dysfunctional than the Batfam lol
Feels like we're on the same wavelength when it comes to batsis. As I mentioned, my own personal experiences bleed though when it comes to batsis. Glad we had this moment. I'm actually currently editing a batsis story, hoping it going to be great 💜

need a batfam x neglected reader fic EXCEPT the reader is THRIVING despite the neglect.
like they are gotham’s it-girl/boy type of thriving.
every once in awhile i would see a sorority promoting their house by dancing on my feed, i actually need the batfam’s reaction to seeing their sibling pull the nastiest moves to promote gotham academy.
not only is reader a cheerleader, performer, dancer- they’re a UNIT. im talking straight A’s, consistently in out-of-school performances, student council, all that. how could they have willfully ignored such a talented person? maybe they resent them for having a normal life? idk!!

According to plot progress I assume historia and eren got into each other and kept seeing each other during time skip but neither of them considered it could last forever. Do u think it was purely platonical or more romantic? Also i think her child is erens even though she prefers to keep it secret, it makes more sense this way.
OMG YESSSS!! I totally agree! ✨️
I personally think they have a romantic, somewhat Toxic-ish relationship 😭🧡
And as someone who's love's secret pregnancy I COMPLETELY AGREE! 😭💚💛
quick question, have any of you ever read the manwha "no place for the fake princess"? because i had a thought about a story inspired by this but as batfamily x neglected!reader. BUT. with a little twist.
so! the story is pretty common at the start. reader who was never given much attention by the batfamily and doesn't really know if they love her or not. mother who died. blahblahblah
reader's mom was bruce's teenage sweetheart, and they were engaged when she died while giving birth to their daughter, y/n wayne. (or so they thought.)
when it happened, dick and jason already were adopted into the family. it was about a year or so before jason's death, and tim was still a mini-stalker following batman and robin.
the "batmom's" death broke the three of them. badly. to a point none of them could really bring themselves to be with the baby. (she looked nothing like mom, why didn't she look like her?) alfred ended up being the one taking care of reader but barely, just a bit more than enough to ensure the baby would survive. he, too, couldn't bring himself to spend too much time with the kid.
why, you ask me? simple. because the birth had complications. and, before batmom could even choose, she died while the baby survived. almost like the baby make the choice instaed. and the weird, kinda-scary glow that adorned the newborn didn't help to stop their resentment.
they never said it out loud (not at the start), but they all thought the same: it was y/n's fault.
then, jason dies when reader was a little more than one year and a half old. tim joins the family some time later. steph does too, when reader is about 5 or 6. then casa when reader is 8. then jason comes back about the same time. then, when reader is 10, a 9 years old damian joins.
y/n looked at how the family was growing, at how dad bruce was able to give love to all of them, but not to her. all from the sidelines. she never felt really sure about their love for her, truly, she doubted they even remembered her.
the only one who showed at least a bit of care was alfred, but with the amount of kids joining the family, giving reader attention was hard. so, at some point in her childhood, she started to do things at her own 99% of the time.
y/n, wanting to have something in common with the family, something that might make them see her, started to be an overarchiever. she was ridiculously smart, a true genius, and soon she started to do a lot of things and be amazing at all of them.
countless linguages, a dozen of instruments, dancing of various kinds, painting, well-read, only the biggest scores at school, elite aweing manners, singing, gardening, sewing, gymnastics, swimming, martial arts, coding.
just. everything. all to see if something would spike the family's interest. even though, as the years passed, she started to like it all.
all of her talents, combined with her natural charming and polite way of being that enchanted people easily, and her clearly beauty, was enough to make the teachers and even some classmates and high society people sing her praises.
(but never enough to make her family look.)
anyway. y/n is 13, almost 14 now. on her last years of middle school. she could have been graduating by now, but it needed to have the parents agreeing so what was left was to wait until she was seventeen and skip a year.
she was in her room at the manor (far, far away from everyone else's, on other floor even) while looking out the window, knowing her family is getting ready or already out on patrol. because yes, she did figure it out when she was 7.
the moon was looking... weird, today. she didn't remember if it was going to have an event at the sky today, but who knows. it is pretty. so, she keeps staring at this, amazed.
(what she didn't know, what that this even where the moon glowed brighter, golden even, was an event that happened once every 15 years and people had never noticed because it was a magical event.)
that night, that was supposed to be as any other, changed everything.
because y/n discovered the truth.
turns out y/n wasn't bruce and batmom's bio kid. no, the person who actually was their kid was eleanor, a girl who was switched at birth. eleanor was a perfect mix of bruce and batmom, unlike reader, who never really looked like them.
the dna tests proved it all true. eleanor was their true daughter, welcomed with open arms and hearts by the family as a whole. as for y/n? she was even more forgotten than before, indirectly being still given the blame for batmom's death.
it would happen fours months before both y/n and eleanor's birthday, and, the day when the girls turned fourteen, an accident would happen. the family would get out to celebrate eleanor (all of them, even alfred), but the court of owls would act, kidnapping the two girls. making them choose. which one will live?
they answer was eleanor. she survided, you had your throat slit open.
reader would wake up from the dream that told it all in panic, without knowing if it was true or not.
only to look at her own hands to see it.
the neckclake that she discovered was her bio mother's back in the dream.
it would shock her. because she had never seen the neckclake before until the dream, but there it was, in her hands.
wanting to see if the rest was true, she took a dna sample from bruce and tested with her. negative.
the dream was true.
she would freak out, because, was herself that easy to replace? eleanor would have been in their life for less than half a year, and they still would let you die for her?
wait— how many months it was before reader's birthday? seven months. three months before she was forgotten and thrown into her death.
y/n started to cry, grieving the life she would never be able to have. the family who never cared.
then, anger took over. she would get out. she would change fate, and live.
just as she thought that, determination hot in her veins, the neckclake that she put around her neck to not lose it began to glow.
and then, another truth was discovered. this one, that gave her hope.
who her biological parents were.
turns out, unknown to the majority of the population on earth, existed a whole continent that had four kingdom's. they were magical, and protected by it. the event where the moon glowed was one of the rare times where this protection become weaker, only by a couple minutes. but enough for the truth find her.
the biggest kingdom between them all, the castellion kindgom, had a king and a queen who were deeply loved by their people. king fleamont and queen euphemia. almost fourteen years ago, their only chlid, the heir princess, was stolen from them.
they looked everywhere, but never found her. the grief was so much that the queen ended up never being able to have children again, and they refused to adopt any heir, waiting and hoping their precious daughter would come back home.
when the event where the magic could go out easier happened, they tried a desesperate attempt. they did a ritual, with the queen's neckclake that contained a tiny strand of hair that was their daughter's, hoping that the neckclake would find the owner of the hair.
and it did. it found the princess.
y/n discovered it all thanks to the neckclake, and was even more shocked. she? a princess?
looking more with at neckclake's magical memories, she found out even more.
her bio family had powers, had magic. and the event, alongside with the truth being known, woke up her magic.
bruce's actual kid was in france, being raised by a man who never cared much but took care of her anyway after the baby was droped on his doorsteps.
the babies being "switched" (or really, stolen) happened by the same man, he worked for a jealous group who feared the princess powers when she grew up and decided to take her away, hoping that spending her first years away from her home would make her powers never develop. it didn't work.
and there wasn't anything against eleanor, but batmom's death was just the perfect tragedy. they took her away and left her at a random man's door in france.
it was all— too much. all her life as she knew was being undone in front of her, and there was nothing she could do about it.
nothing, except, change things so she would live.
so, she beggan a plan and, after some weeks, acted on it. she started to leave small anonymous hints about something weird happening back in france, near where eleanor lived. it took her almost two months to make the family look at this non-existent case, but they did.
things happened just how she expected, they found eleanor, did a dna test and discovered she was bruce and batmom's actual kid. this time, though, y/n expected it. and she acted on step two of her plan.
during these two months, y/n had started to try and understand the magical neckclake. looking for a way to go home. she found it after five weeks, where she was able to send a message to her bio parents, telling them that it's her, i will go back home but i don't know how. the answer came in minutes, telling her exactly how to go back home, our precious ball of perfection.
she started to learn how to do it, because, unfortunately, she had to use at least a bit of her own magic. it was fun, though. having this unknown part of herself awake felt nice, like she was complete.
by the time she managed to do the necessary to go and then a little more, the family already had found and claimed eleanor as their preciousness. her adoptive father didn't make a fuss and accepted to let bruce have her again. no one even remember y/n existed. it was perfect to leave.
and that's what she did, almost three weeks after they found eleanor, y/n left in the middle of the night, using her newfound magic. it worked just like her bio parents said, and soon, she was meet with a carriage that looked like it came right out of a fairytale, ready to take her home.
and left with it, it took some hours, and the time maje her anxious, but it was worth it when she arrived in castellion, that also looked like it was out of a fairytale.
she finally meet her bio parents, her real parents. the reunion was teary eyed and full of emotion on both sides, and they spend hours only talking, her parents wanting to know everything about her life and adoptive family. she told them everything.
after, they took her to her room. a true princess-worth room, even bigger than the one at the manor, with a walk-in closet two times the size of her previous bedroom and a bathroom just as big. all ready for her to make her own, but with some decoration already.
and, for the first time since it was started, she slept well.
(back in gotham, at the manor, no one noticed the absense of the girl they failed, to focused in eleanor to notice.)
the following weeks and months were strange, but in the best sense. she was given countless of princess-like dresses, to choose which ones she liked most both to wear on the day-to-day and on formal occasions. her parents asked even more, learning and already unconditionally proud of how talented their daughter was.
every small, but heartfelt moment was felt with tears from y/n, that at the start worried both her parents and the servants, but soon was recognized as a sign that she was happy.
they taught her everything about both her kingdom and the others culture and history, and she learned it all at such speed that amazed her parents and tutors. what took her longest was her magic, but still they let her take her time while giving full support.
soon enough, word spread acroos the royal court. about the princess who finally came back. about how talented and kind and charming she was. about how she truly was born ready to be the princess she was destined to be.
on her fourteenth birthday, the king and the queen held a ball, looking to officially tell everyone that the princess, their precious daughter, was finally back.
and reader enchanted everyone, meeting the young nobles who were honored to meet the princess.
after it, the news spread much faster, everyone mesmerized with how charming and polite and pretty the princess was.
(the batfamily remained oblivious, but not for long.)
back in gotham, already a good couple months after eleanor turned fourteen, everyone had yet to remember about y/n. it had been almost a whole year since she left.
eleanor was just like batmom in looks, but personality-wise... she was a bit of a spoiled brat, and throwed tantrums kinda often for a lot of things. but no one said anything, still too happy that their lost one was home.
until, that's it, tim found a old hoddie that he noticed by the name written on it that it was reader's. remembering that he hasn't hang out with her in a good while, and feeling kinda guilty, he asks alfred where her room is so he can give it back to her.
it makes alfred notice that he, too, haven’t been giving you attention. so, both go to y/n's room, looking for her.
only to find a dust-covered room, clearly unused by a long time.
it triggs red alarm bells on both of their heads, and they go to the rest of the batfamily to ask have you seen y/n lately?
panic takes over when no one is able to think of the last time they saw her in months.
they begin to search, desesperate to find the little y/n. where is she?! what if she is hurt?! she must be so scared!
(in castellion, y/n is living her live as a princess with her actual parents happily, having friends and being brighter than she ever was in gotham.)
My version of Batsis is the pure personification of Eldest Daughter syndrome. She's not the eldest child, but she is the first daughter, the eldest girl (it doesn't matter technically that's Cassandra, Batsis has been The House's Daughter for longer, it's her position now)
She's the one always keeping it together for everyone's sake. Ever so composed, well-mannered, mature and the shoulder to cry on for her loved ones. She's the only brisk of normalcy in this family, the one who chose to break out the cycle and have a career that doesn't involve fighting crime. She learnt to make herself reliable from an early age. Her family already had too much to deal with, her father got his hands full, so she had to be the easy kid. The one that rarely needed attention or correction. She always behaved and knew what to do. The model daughter, everyone said. Bruce loves her and trusts her like the responsible person she is, relaxed that she's the one that kid that'll never give him a heart attack.
She's grown up hearing all about how she's so mature for her age, so reliable, so put together compared to her family. How she was such a clever and sophisticated little lady. People turn to her for help, guidance or whatever need they have because she'll solve it best. She's the Princess of Gotham. The head of high-society. The one in charge that the machinery keeps running behind the scenes so the public doesn't see the truth her family hides.
Because of this, she's the only one who can meet Dick head to head on equal ground. Not in the way Jason or the others do. She meets him on the same emotional ground, and neither can't stand it. She's the one who makes him break out of his sunshine boy facade. Their perfectly curated images crack when they face each other, unable to stand the sight of their broken reflection on the other's face. She's his mirror in too many ways and viceversa. From the beginning, they couldn't get along normally because of this. Firstborn daughter vs first son. They get each other in a way no one else can lol

Most overlooked aspect of the Firelady Katara debate:
Katara is already the closest thing the southern water tribe has to a princess. She’s the chief’s daughter. Second in line to the chiefdom. Firelady is a step up, because you know Zuko wouldn’t hog power. They’re both anti authoritarian and egalitarian so I truly believe they’d share power and serve the underdogs of the world.
In real life, a strategic marriage to Zuko would not only strengthen the new world order with the fire nation and water tribe being allied, it would inherently have the fire nation atone more for its colonialist past by allowing diversity in their noble class. Marrying outside the fire nation, to the last of the southern waterbenders nonetheless, is a fucking poetic ending to Zuko’s arc. Getting real power to change the world is what Katara would want.
Finally, the royal family who tried to exterminate waterbenders would now likely be making more of them. After generations of arranged or forced marriage, the new fire nation would start with a love marriage to the last person their history would expect…
This is what I keep talking about. The haters are so quick to jump into the "colonizer x colonized ahh trope" "if katara married zuku she would be a trophy wife/insulting her race" (ignoring the trophy wife thing is essentially what happens in canon because once she marries aang she just goes wherever he goes and raising their children and is mostly ever known as the avatar's wife but that's for another day) instead of seeing the absolutely brilliant potential of political intrigues and conspiracies and diplomatic alliances it actually could be. Not to mention, if anyone believes for a second Katara wouldn't have authority as Fire Lady? That somehow Zuko would let her be kept away from her family or land? The same Zuko who crawled himself to the ground for her forgiveness and respects her and owes her his life? Hello?? Some of you have been watching the series with your eyes closed when it comes to Zuko and it shows. They would share the authority and he'll 100% back her up in every decision she makes. Hell, he didn't even really want to be Fire Lord, it was supposed to be Iroh. He would jump at the idea of letting his pretty badass wife handle the politics and annoying advisors, thank you.
And putting aside the fact that a marriage between the Fire Lord and a Waterbender Master aka war hero would actually be a great bridge to atone for the damage the Fire nation brought upon the water tribes and establish a solid peace treaty between both cultures with the Fire Lady being a waterbender, it would be a happy marriage. They're compatible, they're both passionate and driven and stubborn. Zuko respects Katara's strenght and isn't afraid of her darker sides. Katara can be herself with him instead of having to act like a caretaker constantly. They see each other as equals.
Katara would have the power to rebuilt her culture and what the Fire nation took from her people, by relying on non other than the Fire nation itself that she rules over now. It's poetic. And like OP wisely stated:
Finally, the royal family who tried to exterminate waterbenders would now likely be making more of them
YES. The nation who massacred the waterbenders will now have a Fire Lady and a generation of princes and princess who might very probably be waterbenders as well. This marriage will bring back to life what the previous nation took from the southern tribes. And you bet Zuko is completely on board with everything. He's not a tyrant, he's determined to undo the damage Ozai did and be better than his father. He'll be backing Katara in all her efforts towards the tribes and the waterbending culture.
Also, since we're at it, this adds beautifully to my azulaang au because you kill two birds with one stone with these pairings.
The nation who massacred waterbenders and airbenders alike...now have the tables turned when the new Fire Lord marries a Waterbender Master and his sister marries the Avatar, and so both of them become parents of the next generation of waterbenders and airbenders through their unions, resurrecting the very same cultures their family destroyed. Seems like poetic justice to me.
I already spoke about this. I just love these two ships individually, but I love them even more when they exist within the same universe.
