“Then I guess I’ll never be hurtin’ again, cause you ain’t dyin’ on me until after I’m dead.” He’s half joking, half serious as he reaches forward and rests his forehead against Nyx’s with a small sigh.

“Doesn’t matter what anyone says or does to me, s’long as I got you by my side at the end of the day.”

He stares. He stares for an inappropriate amount of time, taking in the sight of someone he thought dead for the past few months.

He looks the same, really, save for some new scars and additional weariness. His hair, his face, his eyes - gods, his eyes --

Try to keep breathing, sure. Breathe. In and out. He could do that, at the very least. Right?

It was hard to tell when the world was spinning too fast for him to even hope to find clarity. He was dizzy and nauseous, and the tightness in his chest made it impossible to draw easy breath.

Just what in the hell had gotten a hold of him?

Libertus had to contain an eye roll at her comment, no longer finding humor in her words - the very same that Nyx had said to him time and time again.

And look where that got him.

Working along side of Cor at Lestallum was almost...comfortable. How quickly they had seemed to fall into rhythm with one another, heading their own divisions that were now, for all intents and purposes, united. One common goal, and a common enemy.

Libertus would daresay he even liked the man, and quite so at that.

Will it sting like a bitch? More than likely. But this was the way he and Nyx used to tend to their injuries as kids, and they were still breathing -- for now, at least.

I wanna talk about how he has NO ONE. no one. He is forced to grieve alone with no support. Waking up and remembering that Nyx isn't here anymore.
