kai joins the military shortly after dex does, but she shows more skill than soldiers, and is recruited for project freelancer as agent hawaii

aboard mother of invention, kai is chaotic as hell. she flirts with lots of the crew members, and basically earns herself a reputation

people think she’s a ditzy weirdo, at first, but they quickly shut up when kai wipes the floor with agent georgia during some training matches

south and carolina seem to dislike her. wash is doubtful of her abilities. ct and york admire her boldness. wyoming and north remark how talented she is, given her age. 479er likes her spirit.

she gets an A.I. and an armor enhancement. Xi embodies the Alpha’s love, and the enhancement it ran was hypnosis, which was very limited and very tiring. but kai thinks about rubbing it into dex’s face when she sees him again. if, a voice in the back of her mind says. she ignores it.

kai befriends the triplets and has a brief thing with ohio. she’s saddened when the three “drop out” abruptly. this is when she begins to suspect that something’s up with the program

she also talks with maine sometimes. similar to how red team is with lopez, she just pretends to know what he’s saying/hissing. he doesn’t really mind, though. he finds it amusing

she’s in awe of tex, too, finding her really badass and really hot. tex likes her, admiring her morale

also, kai going on a mission bc she made it onto the leaderboard

everyone calls her the rookie, sometimes mockingly, but she’ll show ‘em!

then she saves wash’s ass and helps him complete his part of the mission; no one lets him live it down

wash is Salty

he challenges her to rounds on the training floor and york’s like “uh that’s not a good idea shes going to beat your ass”

wash: “pfft yeah right im going to beat hers”

then kai proceeds to beat his ass

thus the second-most notable thing wash is known for: getting his ass beaten by the rookie

kai earns a lot of respect in her time aboard mother of invention. she becomes close with a lot of freelancers. once she discovers what the director did, she’s just as determined to bring him down and make him pay

bonus:

the reds and blues are in trouble, surrounded w no way out. then this freelancer with yellow armor comes in, and theyre badass AS HELL!!, and grif is like “goddamnit not another one i wonder if this one has a bad attitude too”. once they’re no longer in danger the freelancer turns to them and is like “heyyyy bro, long time no see!” and grif screams “WHAT THE FUCK”

grif, trying to kill kai: “WHAT THE FUCK SIS I TOLD YOU NOT TO JOIN THE MILITARY AND WHAT DO YOU DO”

kai, unfazed as she perfectly blocks all his attacks: “i didn’t! i joined an elite program and became way cooler than you!”
