Hello, my lovelies! So in honor of pride month, a few friends and I worked together to make an inclusive chart about the LGBTQQADOFFTMCN community! We are open to suggestions if your identity was not included. We had to umbrella many of the sexualities under queer, as there are hundreds upon hundreds that could not fit in the acronym, but are still very valid! This is very useful in explaining to cishets or other exclusionists what the parameters of our community are.

This fill is part of theWar Veteran and Civilian Bucky series, which you can find previous parts of onAO3.  This one’s for my late, great Tawnygirl.

Tawny was just three yearsold, but she was tall and broad for a golden, and calm, and when she sat downand perked up her ears, Bucky swore her head could take up the space of aforty-inch tv.   

Steve loved her.  He hadn’t beensure, at first, about having a service dog. He had always thought service dogs were necessary and an incredible helpto the people who needed them.  It tookhim some time to come around to accepting the fact that he needed a servicedog.  

It wasn’t because it wouldbe an admission of needing help.  It wasbecause it was real, that his life was different (it had been different, butsomehow, this was more.  Steve hadwhispered it to Bucky, one night, when he’d thought Bucky was asleep and Buckyhad heard him and had kept those things Steve had said quiet and closed up inhis heart and nodded with understanding and encouragement when Steve mentionedthat he thought his therapist was right, that maybe it was time for a servicedog as the next step in his recovery and his life).

Steve loved her and she was always nearby, picking her eyebrows up atBucky when he accidentally interrupted her naps.  Waking Steve up when he had a nightmare andsnuggling into bed with him, her weight a calming anchor.  

She was a perfect additionto their lives.

“This is a nicedate.”  Steve was petting Tawny’s headwhere it sat in his lap (she was sitting up under their table in thecafé).  “And the cocoa is amazing.”

“Melting chocolate, Stevie..” Bucky teased.  “You ok?”

It was a small café, andSteve had insisted.  Tight, unfamiliarspaces could be a problem and Bucky had been hesitant.  Steve was sure and dragged all three of theminside, Tawny looked up at Bucky as if to say my human is irrepressible is this for real?  

“Yeah.  I’m – I’m good.  I’m not great, but I’m good.  Tawny’s half asleep, so I know we’re good.”

“Good.”

“I didn’t realize how muchI needed her.  She – I feel calmer.  Confident.”

Bucky reached across theirsmall table and squeezed Steve’s hand. “I’m glad.  You seem like it.  And honestly, I worry less when I go to work.  It’s not that I don’t trust you byyourself.  I just…”

“I’m not alone.” 

“Yeah.” Bucky smiled.

“I worry less about metoo.”  Steve kissed the back of Bucky’shand.  “You’ve always had my back,Buck.  But…it’s nice to know she does,too.  I feel like…like it’s not just…allon me.  You know?”

I wonder why they hate him xD
