Robin had come from a situation where he was the leader. While he listened to the wants and concerns of the Merry Men the decisions all ultimately fell on him. Since arriving in Storybrooke things changed. Everyone seemed to have the mentality of a leader which was both amusing and infuriating. Working alongside Emma proved to be the least volatile out of all which was ironic considering she was a Sheriff. He followed the blondes instructions while looking at the floorpans. The plan was sound but nothing was every as easy as it seemed. It felt too easy. âI have full faith in the plan but Iâve walked into many traps over the years and this almost feels like one set for us.â One more gaze was given the the floor plan before full attention given to Emma. âThat said, with you and Regina alongside of the rest of us I think weâve nothing to fear.â
Emma was never ashamed to say she was wrong sometimes, or that she didnât need some help. Being thrust into a leader position after she was recognised as the saviour by everyone, wasnât exactly the easiest thing in the world. And being next to the Robin Hood, the example of leader she always read about as a child was still surreal sometimes. He was right, a trap seemed likely, but then again they needed to get in, and if a trap got them into the building then it would work. âDo you think there is something we should bring in case of a trap?â Looking over at Robin, her motherâs hope in her eyes as they divided the work amongst everyone going in. âLook, we have the fire power, you and my parents are great at the physical, Killian too if he can get his ego in check. I want to make sure we have all bases covered, do you think Iâm missing anything?â Her and Robin were rarely in a room alone together, but it was something Emma could get used too. Working alongside the archer was as easy as reading a how-to guide.

There were many late nights at the station, sure. She knew that constantly working was part of the job description, but some nights, Emma wasnât exactly the biggest fan of it. With a deep sigh, relaxing back into her chair, Emma kicked up her feet as she chowed down on the bear claw her father had left hours before that would most definitely taste bad if she left it till tomorrow. He had gone out on a date with her mother, so she had given her dad the night off, so to see him wander back into the station and start ruffling through his desk drawers was a shock to her. Standing up and peering her head out from her office door she whistled to gain her fathers attention, âback so soon? Thought you and mom would be making everyone at Grannyâs run for cover from all your true love kissing.â Poking fun at her dad was Emmaâs favorite pastime, but something seemed off. âWhatâs going on, dad?â

Emma was someone that once searched for danger, searched for an adventure. In that final battle, she was ready for it all to be over. To finally be the newly married woman to Killian that she now was, to relax and finally enjoy some peace and quiet. But there was never truly quiet in Storybrooke. But Leroy had decided that running into the Sheriff Station and yelling that there was a car crash that needed attention when all it was, was Zelena banging into a few trash cans again was well worth her time. It wasnât, but when she was on the clock, it had to be worth her time. Walking into her motherâs apartment she slammed her hands down on the counter with a grunt. âIf you donât get your dwarves into line about what is really a problem or not, I will give them something to have a problem over.â Frustrated she rested her head on the cool tiles. âLeroy believed Zelena banging into a trash can was well worth the Sheriffâs time, I just want a rest.â

magic was still a big taboo in auradon, and that meant that chad often felt completely alone when dealing with his powers. practice made him an expert in ignoring the faint and always present tingling in the back of his mind, the magic calling him. thereâs no one that he could talk to about it, at least thatâs what chad thought until he saw emma literally playing with magic at her fingertips. not caring about how it looked, chad run to the princess and sat besides her on the wooden swing.                     â donât you dare ! i - well , i need your help with magic. i didnât know you could use it and iâm freaking out because i can feel it but i canât control it â
Emma didnât always like letting others know that she had magic. For her, she kept it secret, not only because that was what her mother had encouraged due to the taboo subject in Auradon, but also because she didnât want to become a target. A scapegoat. Someone that everyone would run to when they needed magical help when all she wanted was to be left alone. Emma wasnât one that enjoyed the parties, the balls and the events that the typical royal frothed over, she was pretty self-sufficient. Sparks leaving her fingertips she smiled graciously, âI donât let many people know that I can wield it.â Not knowing how to go about it she let out a reluctant sigh. âChad, itâs dangerous if you donât know how to control it. Your mom hasnât told you anything? Iâm not the best teacher, but I can try to teach you a little bit of control, if you keep it a secret between us.

There was many a day that new people would begin to enter Storybrooke, and as much as Emma didnât want to believe it, everyone was still a character she grew up believing to be fictional. Her life continued to change at the drop of a dime and sometimes she just couldnât comprehend how her life ended up this way. With a deep breath, the Savior bent over her desk, papers everywhere of people travelling between the worlds and before a knock on her door rattled, Emmaâs eyes were looking up. âCan I help you?â

Bending down in her office, it was take your daughter to work day. Or better yet, keep-Hope-Milah-Swan-Jones-off-the-Jolly-Roger-for-one-day-a-week day. Chuckling as she watched her bouncy baby girl giggle in her rocker, Emma took the chance to take the deep breath in admire what she was able to create. But she also knew that she had to get back to work, it wasnât easy, but she was glad that she could bring Hope with her. âAlright Hope-y girl, momma has to get some paperwork done, so you keep being your cute happy self and then you can have all the momma time you want.â Knowing her infant daughter could not respond with anything but a little babble, causing Emma to smile a smile she rarely ever did. Not knowing the entire time that the figure was standing directly in the doorway until she looked up. âHow long were you there?âÂ

To be the daughter of Snow White and her Prince - David - was a lot on oneâs shoulders. To be pure royalty, graduating top of her classes at both Auradon Prep and Auradon University. Emma sighed as she rocked herself on the large wooden swings in the forest, reading her book and spending time by herself. However her fingers flickered, and fireworks were exploding around her, causing attention to be brought to her sanctuary. Hearing rustles of leaves and footsteps pattering along the forest floor, the woman sighed heavily. âI know, I know, cut the crazy magic out, I know.âÂ

âOh come on, Swan!â Regina grumbled as she returned to the room with a bottle of wine and two glasses before she sat down on the couch next to her friend. Friend. When did this happen? How was it even possible to go from sworn enemies wishing to rip each otherâs throats off to this? Sharing non-poisonous meals and bottles of wines together in front of the fireplace during the lazy hours of the evening, chatting and just talking nonsense - at times even unloading some of the heaviest issues that they had to get off their chests. Emma was her family, and not only because she was Henryâs biological mother. She was family because Regina chose her to be family. Her best friend, and the one person she knew she could confide in, no matter what. Once upon a time, the image of the two completely opposite women sitting down together would have been an absurd. These days, it was already part of a usual routine. A routine that, now, Regina couldnât possibly live without.
âPlease donât tell me we have to talk about my drinking habits,â she whined. âWhen did you get so sensible? How can you skip the wine?â
âNow, now, it will make sense in a minute.â For Emma to be skipping on the wine would typically cause a question of insanity and a dumbfounded look from her best friend - but when she would eventually find out why, it would make perfect sense. There had been many prior attempts, hell even Emma had cried with Regina over the possibility of never having the chance again. They had Henry, it wasnât like the Emma wasnât a mother, but the chance to do it from the start was something she was aching for. Hours of talking with Killian they had tried and failed, but now, there was something blossoming. A rainbow during the darkest storm. It was nearly harder to go through this kind of ordeal rather than fighting off Zelena or the Black Fairy back in the day. This was harder because it was taking control of her future, and someone elseâs. Not saving them.
âYou really think Iâm one to lecture on drinking habits? Please. My husband is a pirate for crying out loud, I wouldnât lecture you when I have to lecture him nightly.â A chuckle as she brushed her hair behind her shoulders, relaxing into the couch, bringing a pillow to hug in front of her stomach. âIt stuck...â Regina had known Emma to have been trying. But never knew the outcome, and now that it was safe enough to say, Emma couldnât wait to be excited with someone other than her dashing Captain Guyliner. âI kind of have to be sensible now...

Fingertips gently drummed against the countertop as she listened to Emma speak. Of course Charming would jump to his daughters aid, it was the fatherly thing to do. It had taken some getting used to becoming a somewhat family with her very enemies. And as dysfunctional as it may have seemed, she had come to love them all dearly.
Forehead creased, a look of concern washing over her features as she glanced to the blonde. âEmma, has something happened?â Unlike herself, the savior at most times made it known when something was getting to her. Drinking alone like such times as now, was one of the biggest giveaways. âI can stay for a couple Iâm sure, but only if you have a whiskey with me?â Reasoning with Emma wasnât always easy, she was stubborn but if she continued drinking shot after shot  ⏠it wouldnât be long until she was spewing up the contents of her stomach. Two glasses were sat before them, Regina nodded her head slightly in thanks to the waitress. She should have been back at her office but she couldnât leave Emma when she was like this. Taking a small sip of her drink, the mayor was soon searching for the others gaze in attempts to try and read what was going on inside her head.Â
It was still strange that Emma and Regina now saw each other as friends, a dysfunctional family. Everyone strangely intertwined beyond their logical minds. It felt as if they all had now known each other forever and there was nothing any of them could say or do that would make them feel unloved or disrespected. It was nice, to feel like the family was always together, and always would be.
She wanted to slap her hand over her mouth for saying one sentence too much, for letting something simple as her trauma slip. Blame it on the booze, she had looser lips than typical. âNothing, nothing ever happens,â dazed as she swung her legs on her bar stool, Emma looked down at her glass idly. âWhiskey sounds like a good plan,â a liquor mix wasnât something Emma was a newbie at. She typically mixed to get the feeling of not being in Storybrooke anymore. To feel high and soaring for hours before crashing into bed and doing the next day. âI donât know what Iâm saying,â her words slurring slightly as she began to sip at her next drink of the evening. âI canât stand cold days, even worse at night.â It reminded her of the time she was nearly frozen to death by accident by Elsa, âdays are just different now.â
cantastorieincantatoâ:Â
Regina looked up from the paperwork she was reviewing she always seemed to be working these days. With Henry getting older and wanting to branch out more she was free to focus on the town not that it is what she wanted to do , but it was her duty and she took it seriously. She caught the blondes eyes she had always been able to tell if something was up with her today was no different. â Likely excuse, but come on Emma I know that you are if not anything punctual.âÂ
She shook her head not wanting to press it any further the brunette could see the decline in Emmaâs demeanor as of late through and really wanted to press to see what was going on. She motioned gracefully for her to sit down and waited until she did before speaking again. âSo are you going to tell me what is really going on or are we going to keep playing this proverbial game of chess?â
Out of everyone to call her out on what was wrong, Regina was the first who wouldnât pull any punches. Emma knew that for a certainty. When she eyed Regina, she averted the gaze seconds before the two women would lock eyes. If anyone truly looked at her green hues, they would know that she was feigning happiness, they could see through her lies. She may be the one to tell when everyone was lying, but Emma herself was an open book. Making it very difficult to hide her feelings and truth. âSometimeâs Iâm not as punctual as Iâve led everyone to believe.â
Moving to sit down across from Regina, Emma could feel the intensity behind the Queenâs eyes, that she was eyeing every inch of her, trying to check for inconsistencies, for things that are somewhat different over time. Something as simple as her blonde hair laying flatter than itâs normal bouncy self. Eyes glossier than usual, and it felt like a stab at her heart when she knew that Regina saw through it all. âIâm not entirely sure what you mean, I simply was late. Nothing to read into.â

Working alongside the man, Emma had learnt a few things about Robin, but alone time between them, was a very rare thing. Emma barely spent time with the archer and as much as she would prefer to spend the time with him over others, it was a rare occurrence. Now, they were in the office, both of them looking over floor plans while Regina dealt with another town crisis, while they slaved away over their magical crisis. âThere are entrance points here, here and underneath here.â Pointing at each entrance she looked up at Robin before sighing, âso I can take one with Killian, you can with Regina and my mom and dad can take the third? We just have to make sure the trap works.â

Emma never knew how or when they started believing Rumple, or even beginning to trust him. But she was thankful that they were now, it was time for everyone to put differences aside and starting to work together. Walking into Goldâs shop she had actually planned on raiding the weaponry, if he still had any left in the shop. Quickly making her way inside she flashed a smile before pressing both hands on the counter and slightly leaning into her shoulders. âThe swords, you got any left?â
