SCS After School Program @ P.S. 150Q

We basically have the best STAFF any after-school program can ask for. 

This week for LITERACY THURSDAY, THE ENVIRONMENTALIST learned all about how to conserve water and the benefits of it. They were asked what would happen if there was no water on Earth? And eventually came to the conclusion no life ( plants, humans or animals ) the book One Well , was a delight to read and hopefully resignated in their minds.

The divas composed more than just skirts with umbrellas and paper towels ! They also made skirts with brown lunch baggies with a hint of newspaper detail, a tote purse made out of cardboard and aluminum foil for a glossy/ shiny finish , bracelets made out of paper cups and colored with tribal prints, last but not least the highlight our pretzel dress made out of our very own afterschool snacks from snack-time ! Last week the DiVAS of fashion club tried very hard to remember the intense choreography from MS. Q ! We are so excited for our go green fashion summer collection show this coming June !

Meet  groups 1A and 1B/2A  a.k.a The Environmentalists!!! We are currently very busy with our Random Acts of Kindness  and Literacy Thursdays! Today we read a book titled What a Load of Garbage in the activity area! We learned how to make something old new again. Keep posted!!

Meet the SCS fashion club, where Ms. Shaquilla/ Ms.Q / Miss Sharon and the participants take being a DIVA very seriously.This cycle the participants are creating Eco friendly outfits using recyclable mediums! This skirt was made from a umbrella turned inside out and paper towels. Keep posted for more!

Meet Hannah, one of our more colorful students. Here she is demonstrating how to do a proper split, something she learned from Ms. Stefanie in dance class.
