“hey, a superhero one is even better. i’m certainly not fussy, as long as it does the job.” the thought of being stuck out of duty for even a couple of hours was far longer than she would have liked. she had things to be doing, fixing, solving, and sitting in a hospital wasn’t going to be doing any of them any good. “okay okay, but have you ever seen a detective actually relax?” there was an ever so slight chuckle to her voice as the brunette did her best to both relax, and stay as still as she could to make the other’s job a little easier. “oh, it’s not - it’s not a story that paints me in the best light.” she started, her eyes rolling a little. but evelyn was right, she wasn’t going anywhere fast. “i was chasing after a suspect, and completely misjudged the jump. it’s fine, we caught them, but not without getting a little beat up. sorry it’s not more exciting of a story.”

have a few random annie headcanons because i’m in my feels about her tonight
coming from district 4 , annie was a career tribute. she volunteered for the games because from a young age on her parents had always told her what an honor it would be to participate in the games
she never really expected to win ; of course she sometimes thought about what it would be like to come home as a victor but realistically she knew how slim her chances were
because of her ptsd and anxiety after the games , she almost completely shuts herself down. one side effect of her ptsd is mutism ― it’s not that she doesn’t want to speak anymore ( although that is partially true as well ) but that she physically feels like she can’t
as a result of that she doesn’t open up to people easily and can often appear reserved or distant ( or even crazy when factoring in the other symptoms of her mental instability )
however she has found some other ways to communicate with people , mostly through mimic and gestures ― she’s become very big on physical touches
over the years her ptsd gets a bit better ( especially with the help of finnick ) , so she’s able to talk occasionally again but mostly only when it’s either absolutely necessary or with people she trusts fully
however , it takes a lot of time for her to fully trust people. she doesn’t exactly like being around a lot of people anymore and rather keeps to herself just in case she gets one of her panic attacks
