THOUGHTS:
======================
It can be easy to want others to fear us or to become fearful of other people, but when we give our lives to God, our focus should change. We should no longer seek to control others through fear or live in fear of them. Instead, we should surrender ourselves completely to God and let Him shape our hearts. People do not have the power to determine our eternal destiny. Only God has authority over heaven and hell, so He alone is the One we should fear and reverence.
When we find ourselves afraid of someone, we should bring that fear to God in prayer. Ask Him to remove that fear and replace it with His peace and wisdom. We should also ask Him to help us see that person the way He sees them instead of through the lens of fear. As we do this, God teaches us to trust Him more and transforms us to become more like Christ.
No matter what we face in life, we must put our trust in God. Whether we are facing difficult circumstances, moments of weakness, or situations that make us feel intimidated, God is faithful. He wants to teach us not to fear people but to rely on Him completely. Faith in God means believing that He is greater than anything or anyone we may encounter.
The moment we recognize fear rising in our hearts, we should immediately take it to God. He does not want His children to live in fear of people. Instead, He calls us to walk in faith, confidence, and reverence for Him alone. As we continue to trust Him, He will strengthen us, remove unhealthy fear, and remind us that He is always with us, giving us the courage to stand firm.
Proverbs 29:25 Fearing people is a dangerous trap, but trusting the Lord means safety.
This verse reminds us that living in fear of what others think, say, or do can become a trap. When we allow people’s opinions to control our decisions, we often compromise our faith and miss what God is calling us to do. God never intended for His children to live bound by the fear of others. Instead, He calls us to place our confidence in Him, knowing that His approval is far more important than the approval of people.
Trusting in the Lord frees us from the burden of trying to please everyone. Many times we become anxious because we worry about rejection, criticism, or not fitting in. But when our identity is rooted in Christ, we can stand firm even when others disagree with us. God promises that those who trust Him will be kept safe not necessarily from every hardship, but from being overcome by fear. His presence gives us the courage to obey Him regardless of what others may think.
The fear of man can also keep us from sharing our faith, serving God, or walking in obedience. It may cause us to remain silent when God is asking us to speak or to follow the crowd instead of following Christ. The more we grow in our relationship with God, the more we learn that His truth is worth standing for. As our trust in Him increases, our fear of people begins to fade because we know that God is always with us and will never leave us.
Whenever we recognize fear taking hold of our hearts, we should bring it before the Lord in prayer. Ask Him to replace fear with faith, anxiety with peace, and insecurity with confidence in His promises. God desires for us to walk in freedom, not in bondage to the opinions of others. As we continue to trust Him each day, He strengthens us to live boldly for His glory, knowing that true security is found in Him alone.
Psalm 118:8 It is better to take refuge in the Lordthan to trust in man.
People can make mistakes, change their minds, or let us down. God, however, is completely faithful and never fails. When we place our trust in Him above all else, we build our lives on a foundation that cannot be shaken. Our confidence should always begin with the Lord, because He alone is unchanging and true.
Trusting in God does not mean we can never rely on or appreciate the people He places in our lives. Rather, it means that our ultimate hope and security rest in Him instead of in human strength or promises. When life becomes difficult, we can turn to God knowing that He hears our prayers, keeps His Word, and works all things according to His perfect will. The more we trust Him, the more we experience His peace and faithfulness, even in seasons of uncertainty.
As followers of Christ, we should ask God each day to strengthen our faith and help us depend on Him more than anyone else. When people disappoint us, we do not have to lose hope because our hope is anchored in the Lord. He is our refuge, our provider, and our constant help in every situation. Choosing to trust God above all else brings confidence, stability, and the assurance that He will never leave us or forsake us.
*** Today we talked about the fear of God is not about being terrified of Him but about having a deep reverence, awe, and respect for who He is. It means recognizing His holiness, His power, and His authority over all creation. When we fear God, we honor Him by seeking to obey His Word and live in a way that pleases Him. This kind of fear draws us closer to God because it helps us understand His greatness and reminds us that He alone is worthy of our worship.
Fearing God also gives us wisdom and direction for our lives. When we reverence the Lord, we become more sensitive to sin and more eager to follow His ways. Instead of being controlled by the opinions of others or the temptations of the world, we choose to trust God’s truth. The fear of the Lord teaches us humility, helps us make godly decisions, and keeps our hearts focused on what is eternal rather than what is temporary.
As we grow in our relationship with Christ, our fear of God is expressed through love, trust, and obedience. We desire to spend time with Him in prayer, read His Word, and allow the Holy Spirit to transform us each day. A healthy fear of the Lord does not push us away from Him it draws us into a closer relationship with Him. When we honor God above everything else, we discover the peace, wisdom, and security that come from walking faithfully in His presence. ©Seer~ Prophetess Lee
