it was a stroke of genius to give James T Kirk a bitchy flip phone in the 60's, truly amazing to watch him slam it shut like a pissed off socialite girl in 2000's teen shows
I just had to collect all of these responses together in one place
Edit: And one from my friend, who doesn't have a tumblr (yet)
#i keep waiting for someone to address the '18th century looms were huge' claim#like sure some were#but the fact that textile mills had been invented doesn't mean that all home weaving ceased#indeed people still weave for fun or profit in this the 21st century#smaller looms were still being built and used in the 18th century just as smaller looms are still being built and used today#and that's without considering the existence of inkle/tape/band looms which were/are used for making narrower woven ribbons for trimming etc#small 18th century looms absolutely exist
there are thousands of notes and a few people ABSOLUTELY addressed this xD
I wanna add mine! But it still has some assembling to do before I can move on to the next step
...Okay this place *is* better than Reddit.
My wife did a lot of hand crafts while we were dating. After we got engaged, my father piped up that at least she didn't have a spinning wheel. We put it in the doorway the first time my parents came to visit.
Her loom is packed away at the moment so she can work on an uncountable number of knitting projects and metalwork at the moment.
Fibercrafts.
Not even once. You start with "Oh, I'd love to learn the drop spindle" And the next minute your home office is occupied by a loom, you're planting flax in the garden, and considering the logistics of owning an alpaca.
I love that Leverage really goes out of itâs way to show us that just because you break the ârulesâ, it doesnât mean youâre breaking the rules. Rules and laws and society are all made up, at the end of the day, and all you really have is your own moral compass and sense of justice; is this just to you? Is it right? Should it be OK for companies to put people in insurmountable debt for the rest of their lives just because our medical care is so expensive in this modern day and age? No law or rule should change what you know in your heart is right and wrong, and I think thatâs the key thing that makes someone a good person in my eyes.
#there was a time when parker wouldnât have noticed, #not because she lacked the capacity to care, #but because she had narrowed herself, #to stay alive she cut off as many unnecessary things as possible, #watching her get them all back, #is one of the glories of this show (via @seananmcguire)
Leverage hands down has the best character development Iâve ever seen.
This scene hit me like a brick. My parents were hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt when I was 16 bc Iâd had cancer the year before (my treatment ended up being free but the initial ER bills and such were not).
But somewhere along the line they justâĻ Disappeared. My mom says theyâre not being paid and theyâre not in collections. Itâs almost as if someone out there didâĻexactly what Parker did.
Ever since I saw this the first time, Iâve imagined it was Parker doing it. That she and Hardison had a free weekend and decided to take it out on a collections agency. That I was one of the lucky ones who got a little Leverage.
Okay but like yeah, that is actually a thing that happens, albeit not exactly like this. I donât remember the exact process but basically thereâs a booming industry to sell peoples debt - the business you owe money to sells it to someone else for a fraction of the money owed, wipes their hands of the whole affair, and now whoever bought your debt is riding your ass to get you to give the money to the. But itâs also entirely possible for people to justâĻ buy up massive amounts of debt for pennies on the dollar, and then just. Forgive it. Because capitalism is a living nightmare, but the system is broken enough that itâs possible to exploit it for good sometimes.
Like, the main reason I know about this is because John Oliver did a piece on debt buying a few years ago, and ended it by revealing that heâd bought 15 million dollars worth of medical debt just so he could forgive all of it. Both to expose how broken the system was because some random fucker like him could buy millions of dollars in peoples debt with zero regulations, and also just to take the record for biggest TV giveaway in history.
A charity where you can do this, right here.
Be Parker! Be somebody elseâs Leverage!
Reblogging for the website.
yes! if you want to help with the medical debt crisis in the US and have some extra money please donate to RIP Medical Debt if you can. Theyâre completely legit and really do what they say - you really CAN relieve an incredible amount of debt for the needy with even a small donation. Iâm a monthly donor and receive a quarterly report of the debt theyâve abolished, and it truly is amazing. Based on those reports the average amount of debt abolished per person is actually I would say about $600 - which means, if youâre doing the math, that with a $6 donation to RIP Medical Debt, you can potentially pull one person out of a poverty spiral - maybe even one family. For six dollars. thatâs a pretty good deal, I think.
RIP Medical Debt is now called Undue Medical Debt!
Undue Medical Debt makes it easy for donors to make an impactful difference in the lives of those struggling with medical debt.

JADITHA IN THE FUCKING TRAILER THANK GOD
Based off a conversation with oomf about Grace teaching his class about Earth animals but he really fucking sucks at drawing so most Eridiansâ perspective of Earth animals is shit
I will always reblog this
still remember how revolutionary this ad felt 10 years ago
excuse me but it still feels revolutionary
Keep reblogging until it feels normal everywhere.
For context: this came out in 2011 in Australia. Same-sex marriage would not be legalized until December 2017.
It was only legalized in 8 US states (the 8th only a few months before), and wouldnât be legalized nation-wide until 2015.
It was only legal in TEN COUNTRIES in 2011. We wouldnât hit 20 countries until 2017. (Australia was 23rd)
As of today (April 14, 2026), I believe only 38 countries have fully legalized same-sex marriage. Out of somewhere around 200 countries in the world. Thatâs only ~19% of countries.
This is still revolutionary.
humiliating to be attracted to a conventionally attractive person. I thought I was a more sensitive and refined pervert than this

onwards, little ducklings đ¤
Shane Hollander is blessed with being the bottom of all time who comes all over himself just from having a dick in his mouth or ass but cursed with only wanting one singular very specific dick and, unfortunately, the dude attached to that dick is only available to rail him a few times a year.
God giveth and he taketh away.
Witch hat atelier is the absolute best disability rep I've ever seen. It makes me so damn happy
I just finished volume 9 so no spoilers please!
Custas was given a sealchair, but it isnt perfect, he's unable to walk some paths or he trips. And even when he's given wings he's still at risk of them being stolen, and im assuming they take way more energy than walking.
And Beldaruit, he uses a sealchair, but actually not really, he's using magic to pretend like he's running around and everytime we know its actually him he's much more low energy. This really felt so relatable as someone who will act high energy in text even if im bed bound that day. And seeing the girls consider what could prevent him from seeing their show and actually accommodate him by widening the path!!!!! Gods i wish people could do that more often
Tartah trys to hide his disability to the point of not even accommodating himself by labeling things and just memorizing everything. Qifrey hides his disability and is so damn uncomfortable when people talk about it, big part due to rhe truma around it yeah, but let a guy project here.
The shame that their disabilitys come with is so heartbreaking and just fit perfectly into the theme of characters being uncomfortable in their body. Euini is another perfect representation of disability and not fiting your body. Euini is just the most obvious trans allegory but its still perfectly written. Him running away because he knows he couldn't go back home, and him kinda accepting his wolf body while saying goodbye (â âĨâ īšâ âĨâ ). Also i love that its written in a way where this world doesn't have to be straight up transphobic to have a trans story where he isn't accepted.
Just rambling today but whatever
