Ok so I'm really late writing this and maybe no one is interested or will even see it but I thought I might aswell and I think at least @sixtiesblues told me to talk about it π this is no where near as special or interesting as some posts Ive seen on here of amazing experiences! Also apologies in advance for how long this is I started typing and couldnt stop lol.
So my best friend and I went to see Roger Taylor in Liverpool and it was the best thing ever π We didnt queue up hours before hand or anything even though because my friend is not quite as fanatic as I am π so we got to the venue just before the doors opened and the queue was allll the way down the street and around the corner! It was so cool to walk by everyone with their Queen/RT t-shirts on and while in the queue some locals said that they had never seen a queue so big for the venue. It was great to just be surrounded by everyone so excited to see him and talking Queen, i was like 'we've found our people!'
When we got in the area to the front of the stage was pretty packed so we got to a good enough distance and stayed there for the night . The support act was really good, he kind of sounded like a country style Hozier and had good banter with the crowd, I wonder if Roger had a hand in picking him to support!
The band came on at bang on 9pm and the crowd erupted everyone was so excited! Roger came out last making him grand entrance with his shades of course π It was so surreal seeing him for the first time my friend and i tuned to each other and just went 'He's real!!?!'π€£
The crowd were so loud for him inbetween songs that he had to just take few seconds to take it in and kept doing these like little, laughs of disbelief or maybe just joy but it was the cutest thing ever and just made everyone want to cheer for him more! π It was so amazing to hear him talk to the crowd I felt so starstruck π and he was really witty aswell with jokes and stuff and how the film took the piss out of IILWMC but he doesnt give a shit because he fucking loves his car ect.π Of course he sounded absolutely amazing throughout the night his voice was so clear and had so much power to it!
And the band were really brilliant, they are all such talented musicians and was great to see a bit of banter on stage with each other especially with Tyler during the drum battle and with Spike during his (vocoder?) style vocals at the start of It's a kind magic π Tinakeys was also amazing great to see some girl power up on the stage and she literally plays every instrument under the sun with great vocals too π Roger kept gesturing to his band mates during and after each song like he really wanted to emphasise it was a Band on tour rather than just all about him, after all this time he still just loves being part of a band ππ
It really was the best night ever and I'm so grateful I got to go β€
I'm only going to share this video because you can really hear us singing in the rest of them and it is awful π
