"Wicked Angel of Golden Grove" (I wanted to add it quickly before it was too late, and someone have the same exact name!)
-Did not like the idea of the move and the new environment
-Definitely got weirded out when she got the paper airplane (she ran off without letting her mother know)
-Took the right path and met Qiu, who she was skeptical about at first, who she was blunt with, but warms up to after talking with, and uses the birthname Qiu instead of Autumn
-Absolutely got confused why Tamarack was hiding in a pile of leaves, learns to be protective of her overtime
-Ash keeps the paper airplane as a memo
Qui: Developing a crush that Ash is in denial of and keeps to herself (up until step 2 where she slowly accepts)
-Ash definitely sleeps with a stuffed animal she had since infancy, all worn, and sewn up (by her mom) and sleeps with it.
Finds her two neighbours the less annoying people she has met since moving.
-Walk to school, she is definitely hesitant about starting a new school
-She is reluctant with her 4th-grade teacher but obeys what is said not to get on her wrong side on the first day
-She sat with Tamarack, who she let have the seat window
-When Ash learns that Qiu is popular, she is glad she has Tamarack by her side
-She doesn't plan on becoming popular (in the second step, she's either known for being around Qiu/from a team sport or that "intimidating kid" )
-Ash had the impression that Baxter was stuck up when she heard from Qiu that the boy's family was wealthy and went to some sort of Elite school, so she didn't despise him for it, she just got the wrong impression
-Ash would have had a problem with one of Qui's friends, especially Renee at the time who said the group was a "Boy's club" for sure (she would have done something, but her new teacher/the mom was in the room)
-Ash joins the "Boy's club" out of spite (she butts heads with Mrs. Murray's kid from then on)
Headcanons: Between elementary and middle school (and maybe a little bit of high school), Ash participated in writing friend fiction with Tamarack (Qiu would participate, but it would mostly be Tama and Ash)
-You know the chant "I'm gonna be a little girl all the way home" from Wolf children? Ash practice "I'm going to be a good girl all the way home" with her mother before going to school every day and reports back when she gets home
Elementary school clubs: Soccer or homework help 🤦🏾♀️ (Ash cannot do her homework by herself, she gets distracted at home and end up doing it late with her mom)
-Halloween costume: Red riding hood or Fairy
-Ash would be in a sports team (soccer or volleyball) while Tamarack was in band and Qiu in ballet
