i know im on about this like a broken record but honestly haurchefant is so interesting to me and i feel like he gets so much of the uwu-treatment from a lot of the fandom, both given his devotion to the wol and also because he, you know, dies. it wouldnt serve the in-game story to show it. but. in my twisted mind palace i imagine him wild-eyed and furious. struggling between upholding knightly ideals and the rage he holds for being born a bastard, for being beholden to ishgards whims, for being part of and unable to change what he feels is wrong.

even if he wanted to brute force the wol and alphies entry into the city, he couldnt. he had to beg and plead with his father! it's the first time they ever have a conversation that candid!

its really important to check in with yourself often and ask whether you're actually enjoying what you're doing.

that can be true of very big things, like your career or your love life, but also moment-to-moment things. are you enjoying scrolling social media? is that phone game actually any fun to you? are you staying up to read and your eyes are burning and your face feels all gritty and tight and bad and your anxieties are starting to swirl?

especially with a neurodigervence like adhd or ocd, it can be really really easy to slip into patterns that don't actually benefit you or anyone else. but you can just....stop doing those things, if you want. fuck FOMO. go do something else that you actually like.

One thing about Obsession (2026) that I enjoyed was that it almost asks you to feel empathy for the entity possessing Nikki as well as the real one. Like, obviously the things she's doing are horrific and fucked up, but I think the scene where Bear is asking her to "just be Nikki!" and she eventually just desperatly screams "I can't be Nikki!" does a really good job of showcasing the entity's inner feelings. She's been created with the sole purpose of loving this guy more than anyone else but no matter how perfect it is or how much he claims to love her, its not her that he loves, its Nikki. And any time she stops pretending to be Nikki, he reacts (albeit rightfully) with disgust and horror. She can't be Nikki because Nikki would never love Bear, and so Bear will never love her.
