   it’s rare to see him even CONTEMPLATE taking a break this early on in practice - he’s already pushed himself to the point of injury, and going further with it ( right now, at least, ) will only make it worse. one of his club members has the GALL to try and escort him off of the rink - and they’re shrugged off with a biting look. who do they think he is?

   the DULL ACHE in his hip is softened by a hot pack, and he curses himself for being unable to land his double-axel - his pride is wounded. lidded hues flit from his lap - to the rink - and eventually to the ( admittedly unwanted ) presence alongside him. he waits a moment, an attempt to collect himself - the words aren’t meant to come out so HARSHLY: but really, he’s frustrated with himself.
