“Yeah- it sure is! Really cold, just like Sinnoh!” Brett nodded, “We don’t have more Amauras or Auroruses in Sinnoh, though, so this is a first for both of us.” he grinned up at Lumi. 

He gave a thumbs up to Peonia, “Yeah, I’m good, though. My mama and papa are down in Freezington right now- so they’re not too far!” He shrugged when Nia suggested she was talking to much, “Don’t worry, I do that all the time. Talk too much and then realize I was talking too much.” he laughed, “Nice to meet you, Peonia! I’m Brett! Brett Akagi!” 

Thinking for a moment, he processed, “Wait… Rose? Like my Uncle Rose?”

“Ahh, so you’re a tourist too, then-” she replied after a while. Well, at least his parents knew where we was, and he had Pokemon with him. He’d likely be fine out here then, especially as Lumi continued to smile at the both of them.

But she was definitely liking this kid. He seemed fun to be around, even though he was five years her junior. More fun than most of the people her age, really, so maybe it was a good thing that she’d met him.

She hadn’t thought much of it when she had sleepwalked into the town below before tripping. She had done it before, but usually people fretted over her like crazy. She didn’t understand why though, they were usually such minor wounds, that she didn’t quite mind it. But she let it happen most of the time. 

For once though, she finally ended up getting herself into a big more of a mess than she was used to. She had fallen over on the farther concrete, instead of having someone to break her fall. So dang, it hurt a lot more, in a few more places than usual. But she was lucky, really. To have seen someone coming to her rescue there, sort of like a knight in shining armor.

“Why don’t I give up? Because I have something to prove,” she replied, first quite simply. But she wasn’t about to end there. She wouldn’t let someone talk like this.

“It hasn’t even been my main goal for a while... I want to heal more than I want to fight... But who says I can’t try to battle anyway? Because I’m still a kid, and I have the chance to keep growing and getting better-”

“What’s my opinion? Well... I don’t blame Uncle Samar for it, despite everything I was told. Things slip through the cracks- He was so busy, he couldn’t have known, right?” 

But she just gave a breath at the next part of the question. “About them fighting though... I mean- Even when I was a kid I always sort of knew how tense things were. It didn’t even have anything to do with my mother when I noticed, it was something entirely different- But now there’s something concrete but... It feels wrong, but I don’t resent Samar for it. He doesn’t seem that malicious... Even when the Darkest Day happened, I couldn’t feel that anger that so many others felt...”

“What would I do..? I... I don’t know-” she sighed, her eyes moving to the floor. “Knowing how it all happened before... I’m not even sure if I’d be alive, really- And it’s scary all on it’s own. There were so many people I wanted to see again, and go back to-” 

Concert rehearsals were one of Piers’ favorite things (other than the concerts themselves). Even though the concert was hours away, the sheer anticipation was already coursing through him, leaving him a bit more energetic than normal. With the stage lights turned on and lighting up the full stage, he stood on the stage, facing the amps at the back. Switching his gaze to the electric guitar slung over his shoulder — which was plugged into the amp — he closed his eyes before giving the strings a few strums, grinning at the distorted sound that erupted from the speakers. Perfect. Just the right sound he wanted. 

Instrument tests were quite important. The last thing he wanted was for something to be out of tune or something be only halfway plugged into the amps. 

Opening his eyes, he let out a satisfied hum before he took off the guitar and set it back onto its stand near the back. Better take a break before testing out the microphone quality. It’d be good to conserve his energy for the night, anyway. He then stepped offstage, heading towards the main part of the town where he began walking down the concrete path. Eventually, he spotted what looked to be a girl wandering along the street. “Uh… ‘ey there. Y’lookin’ for somethin’?”

At the question, she didn’t think much of it. She didn’t quite recognize Pier’s talking voice from matches, since she was more accustomed to hearing the man sing. So, she just responded like she would to anyone else. “Eh, just lookin’ for somewhere to get some food-” Nothing much else, since she wouldn’t have been in the mood to get into a big conversation with a stranger. And if he could help her? Well, that would be fine too, as long as things didn’t get creepy or unhappy between them.

But, all of that changed when she finally turned around and saw who had spoken to her. She’d recognize such a character from a mile away, that had to be Piers. Her jaw nearly dropped at the revelation, as she realized who it was. She was really in the same area as him? She knew she’d see him later, but not in public! Not where she was being talked to. She wanted to fangirl, quite a bit actually. But she still didn’t want to embarrass herself in such a way. No, keeping her composure was probably the better route to take, especially around someone as famous as Piers.

   She entered carefully at Bianca’s okay, her gaze immediately settling on the other. Hilda found herself giving her a small smile as well, before moving to sit on the edge of Bianca’s bed. Just months ago they’d sat like this, talking about wanting to journey Unova, and yet it felt like it had been years.

   “I just wanted to see you,” Hilda started, a hand moving to push her uncharacteristically down hair over one shoulder. “I feel like I have hardly seen you since we returned to Nuvema.” She’d spent so much time at home, her mother watching over her as she dealt with the immediate impacts of what she had just been through. Bringing her gaze back up to Bianca she noticed how forced the other’s demeanor seemed. True the blonde was typically more upbeat and positive than she or Cheren, but something about her smile seemed off.

   “How have you been doing?” Perhaps asking instead of bringing it up directly would be a better move. “Does being back home feel weird to you too? After all that’s happened I mean.”

There’s still that smile, she’s trying to keep things up to that same facade. There have been times where she’s had to fake a smile before, of course. Never around Hilda... No, never her. She could usually be truthful with Hilda, even in her sadness but now... She didn’t want to sit there and make the other feel bad. She was sure that whatever she felt, Hilda had it ten times worse. So she kept it up, no matter how fake it would seem to someone else.

At those questions... How to respond- The truth just wouldn’t do, no. She still didn’t like the sound of the truth right now. Maybe later, when all of the negative feelings passed, would she finally find such happiness? Such security in speaking about her feelings? She really did hope so, in all honesty.
