omg no i totally understand needing all the science to be correct like me too like i cannot ignore the it it takes me out of it too much if smth is wrong, like to each their own its FANfiction but i love phm becuz its science fiction that feels plausible and real. perfect for my very low ability to suspend disbelief lmao

i'm so NOT sciency or mathy enough to write the science and math portions of things it's terrible LMAO. I consult the Reddit threads with the actual geniuses to help me out

Hi Mika!! I thought your Ryland Grace fic was perfection! It inspired me to have my own take on the Grace x English Teacher AU. What if you added the idea of Grace playing baseball when he was younger and is now helping coach the schools baseball team?

I know a lot of people see more nerdy people like Ryland to be anti-sports and not super coordinated, but growing up for me all the people in the advanced classes and super smart were also super good at sports. And I don’t see Grace having played in college (maybe he wanted to for scholarships?? But got too busy??) but maybe there was an absence last minute and he volunteered to help the team out until they find a replacement but he loves it!!

Also English Teacher at baseball games would be super cute, probably gets along well with the students who are enthused to have their fave teachers at the game.

I picture Grace as totally uncoordinated though, so part of me is thinking what if it's like "if someone doesn't step up to coach this team then there isn't going to BE a team" so they ask if anyone has ever played baseball and Grace raises his hand so they're like "perfect, you're the coach now!" and he's like "but...but I only ever played t-ball"

And reader can either be another teacher or a parent that steps up to help him (and maybe actually knows the game) and it's just endearing how he tries to teach them stuff. I'm thinking kinda like Ted Lasso in a way where the stuff that Ryland comes up with is like batshit crazy sometimes but it works???

Grace and teacher!reader watching the solar eclipse with their classes and the kids are all so hyped while Grace is being a nerd and rambling about the eclipse. It could also be connected to the fly me to the moon fic when a kid goes “So if Mr. Harkin is Pluto, and Ms. [Name] is the Sun..Who’s the moon in this situation?” When Ryland has already called himself Earth 😭😭

In an alternate universe where Ryland never gets sent off to space and the sun is not on the verge on imploding, the moon would totally be their child and that's how they would announce it to their kids
