I wanna say they were both science professors in different departments and that’s how they met

Melly was with her husband at the time but she caught herself falling head over heels for Luchino

He loved listening to her talk about bees for hours and her work always interested him

She could discuss anything with him and he would gladly listen and offer his own thoughts on the matters

Melly loved the way his face would light up when he saw a reptile

Luchino definitely told her about the lizards he kept in his home

He loved her a lot, he left little notes for her in her classroom and promised her the world

Before the two of them could run off though, he transformed into a mutant and disappeared

Melly assumed him dead and mourned

Years later she ends up at the manor, not expecting to see the ghost of her past there too

He doesn’t seem to remember her though, there is no love in his gaze
